Cancer had agreed to take you to the bookstore, in order to buy your textbooks. He was walking about a foot in front of you, and it was eerily quiet.
"H-hey, how long have you been going to that school?" You tried to make things a little less awkward, it wasn't really working.
"5 years." He responded pretty quickly, it made you flinch. He slowed his pace to match yours and began speaking again.
"It means Akane and I are both 5th years. The way Hogwarts works is that there are 7 years, kinda like one school year. On the first day or so you've been there, you'll get sorted into a house." That was a lot of information for you to take in at once.
"So, what's a house? I mean, I know what a house is, but like, what you were talking about. They don't actually put you in a house with other random people do they?" Not talking for 15 minutes was taking its toll on you, and now you really need to speak.
"A house is a category that the sorting hat puts you in, there's four houses, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin." He finished speaking, and you assumed he was rather smart.
"Which one are you in?" He looked at you quickly and sighed.
"Akane and I are in Slytherin." He kinda mumbled it, like he didn't want to talk about it.
"We're here." He held the door of a small, red building that was built into the wall, like all the other buildings, open for you.
"I'll wait here, alright?" You gave a short grunt of approval and walked into the store.
*. *. *. *.
"I-uh, w-what?" After walking into the store, you noticed something strange, every book in the store was pulled off the shelf, along with some strange noises coming out of a few furry.... Books? You noticed three people, a boy and a girl, standing next to the book counter who looked rather similar, and a boy with glasses and black hair who was in the process of picking up various books from the floor.
Option 1: help the boy on the floor.
Option 2: talk to the people by the counter.
