I saw as Asher's smile faltered but he replaced it with a fake one that seemed too real. I guess being a celebrity taught you to fake things perfectly.

"Hi Rachel," Asher said, smiling charmingly. And this time even I couldn't tell if it was fake.

"Asher!" Rachel sort of squealed and threw herself at him. I wondered how she did that considering the number of shopping bags she was holding.

Rachel and Asher were friends or so I knew from all the gossip sites which I never visit. You could blame Brooke for all the information I had of Asher's personal life. Not that celebrities had any.

Rachel started her modeling career just after she graduated from high school. The same time Asher started his music career. While Asher became a hit overnight and continued to stay on the top, Rachel... well, let's just say not many people knew about her. The only recognition she got was by being around Asher in the award shows and stuff like that.

I wondered why he let her use his fame. He was obviously smart enough to know she was living off his popularity. Maybe he enjoyed her company. I scoffed mentally. Rachel was by far the most annoying human being I had ever met. But maybe he did. Who knew? After all, he was a guy and she was pretty hot.

Damn, I had to go there. Stupid brain! Now my mind was filled with disgusting images of them together.

I tried to clear my mind as I tuned into their conversation.

Again, why am I still here?

"I would but..." Asher started apologetically. "I am here with Ellie," he continued.

What?

What?

No. I had to get out of there before he got me in trouble. I tried to sneak away but damn. He wrapped his arm around my waist and kept me in place. I could feel the coolness of his hand from the thin fabric of my top and it made a shiver run down my spine.

I could feel Rachel's eyes on me.

"I am sure you remember her," Asher said and I glared at him.

"No, I don't," she said dismissively. Bitch! I had known her all my life and been to her house more times than I remember. I blamed her poor memory on her hollow head.

"It's been so long since we last spent time together. It's a perfect chance! We are in town at the same time and we both are here now. Fate wants us to have dinner together," she insisted.

Here we go with the fantasies!

"I would love to but I am tied here. You see, I am already here with Ellie—" she cut him off.

"She can come too," she said.

Desperate much?

I looked at her with horror. How far could she go to be with Asher? The answer was pretty far.

Asher was looking at her in the same way. So, he didn't really like her.

An idea popped in my head.

"No, it's alright. You two can have dinner. I was leaving anyway," I smiled my most convincing smile.

"Really! Thank you," she smiled at me gratefully. Then, she busied herself by texting on her phone. Probably making reservations.

I was amazed at how happy she looked.

I tried to get out of there but Asher wasn't letting me. I glared at him and he glared back. We were close. Very close. Closer than I would like.
