KIM

I couldn't sleep the whole night. The scene kept playing in my head. And all I can this is how? Why? What happened last night? But I don't regret it which is the part that scares me.

"Kim, time to wake up." I heard my Dad knock on my door.

Trent came onto my side of the room. "Wake up!"

I didn't realize I finally fell asleep. "What?" I asked still half asleep, struggling to lift my body up.

"Get up." Trent said loudly.

I turned on my side and looked at my clock before laying back own on my bed. "It's 8 in the morning."

"Chloe wants to go to iHop for breakfast. So come on!" He said and ran out of our room.

I sighed and slowly sat up. I couldn't help but smile.

Jackson and I spent about an hour the night before just sitting in his backyard, talking. If you asked me what we talked about I wouldn't be able to give you a clear answer. We just talked. We were able to keep the conversation going along even when we had nothing else to talk about. We both managed to continue the conversation.

I got off the bed and walked over to my dresser, grabbing some clothes. I laid them on my bed and I was about to remove my top when I heard laughter from outside.

I walked over to the window and smiled at the sight of Jackson and Jake throwing a baseball back and forth with each other. Jake seemed to really look up to Jackson.

'Kim! Hurry the hell up!" I heard Trent yell from down stairs.

"Trent! Watch your mouth!" I heard Dad yell.

I gave a small laugh to myself and put on my clothes and headed downstairs.

"About time." Trent said when I got to the living room.

I grabbed my hoodie and put it on. "Can you chill?" I said.

"Can we go now?" Chloe whined.

"Yes." Dad said. "Everyone, in the car." Dad ordered.

We all filed out of the house and walked to the van. I couldn't help but look at Jackson. And I knew he could help but look at me. He was distracted by me that he didn't notice Jake threw the ball, hitting Jackson in the shoulder. I let out a short laugh and hopped into the car. Dad shut the back door once we all were in and got into the driver's seat, starting the car and drove us to iHop.

At iHop, Chloe was talking about a bunch of things at once to Mom and Dad. This girl is a motor mouth. She can talk for hours without taking a break. During this I had my phone under the table, texting Lacey, making sure my family didn't notice.

I texted her saying I needed to tell her something and to call me so I could leave the table.

Shortly after I sent the text I got Lacey's phone call. My whole family looked at me as I pretended to look at the caller ID.

"Excuse me. I got to take this." I said and without letting them say a word I walk out of the International House of Pancakes and walked to our car, standing beside it. "Hey, Lace."

"What happened and why did I have to call you at 9 in the morning?" Lacey said, sounding tired.

"Sorry, I just wanted to tell you something. I'm sorry for bugging you."

"It's okay." She started to sound a little less tired. "What is it?"

"Well, last night Jackson was being a jack-ass."
