Falling... You remember falling. Nothing else seemed to come to mind. Well, that wasn't true. There was a nagging in the back of your head that screamed at you, but you couldn't remember no matter how hard you tried.

You heard voices in the black void you were in. Yelling at each other, maybe. Your body felt heavy and bruised and uncomfortable . Did you really actually fall? How stupid were you? You shifted your body around, but instantly regretted it with the pain that shot through your ribs and legs.

You choked on your spit (was that iron you tasted?), and opened your eyes as slow as you could, because damn did it hurt. What was that bright light? You weren't dead, were you? You were pretty sure you weren't.

You felt hands on your legs and back, helping you up with little care, and almost a little too aggressively. It bothered you, but you let it slip to the back of your mind. That didn't matter right now.

You looked up to the person who helped you with your heavy eyes, and you were surprised. A perfectly curved face and sharp chin, thick eyebrows and beautiful discolored eyes. His hair was swept to the side in a spiky manner with chocolate brown taste. But something was off. His skin... It almost didn't look all natural. His face was a peachy color, but the rest of his skin said he was dark tan. On the edges of his face were metal clasps. One metal clasp on the end made it look like he had facial hair of some kind. Was it a mask? Why on earth would such a handsome man need a mask? A scar? A blind eye?

"Look, pumpkin," He spoke, raising an amused brow at you. How? You wondered. "I know I'm amazing to look at, believe me, I know." You wanted to laugh, but when you tried your ribs rung with pain. "But right now you're not looking so pretty yourself."

You looked down at your body, and you knew he was right. There was dry blood around every nook and cranny of your body and your clothes were ripped to pieces. Your skin was dirty and scarred, and you didn't even want to think about your face right now. You frowned,

"So, tell me why you fell down in my damn office and I might fix you up. Probably not me though." He shrugged, and stood up, leaving you to sit by yourself. You looked at your surroundings, to see you were indeed in an office. A big one. Big and full, but at the same time strangely empty. The lights were dim, and the brightest light was over a big, gold desk with a yellow chair, hologram like computer and scattered papers. Some were even on the floor. That's where you sat, beside the desk.

"Uh-m," You rasped out, trying to regain your voice. Your throat burned. "I... don't know."

You heard the unknown man sigh deeply, and slouch backwards. He rubbed his temple, clearly irritated, and looked down to you. "Then what do you know? Are you with the Vault Hunters?"

"Vault Hunters?" You repeated, suddenly bedazzled by his accusation. "What are Vault Hunters?" Then you saw it.

The huge window.

You widened your eyes, and leaned toward it to get a better view. The man picked you up suddenly, not very carefully which made you hurt by the sudden movement, and took you to the window. You didn't care about the pain anymore, as you reached out your hand and carefully touched the glass. A big, round rock that glowed purple and had a huge crack floated about, along with other white sparkling dots that formed patterns. It was painted black all over, which made the wonders stand out even more.

Space. Planets. Cosmos. Galaxies. Your mind echoed.

"Acting like you've never seen space before," He laughed. You found you liked his laugh. His voice, too. It was all very charming. But something in you told you to be wary. He wasn't what he seemed. There was more to this man then meets the eye. Your mind told you that even those who think they know him don't. You didn't know why you felt this way. It was like you knew him from somewhere else.

"Not... that I remember," You told him, looking up to his masked face again. You wanted to see what was behind it, but you knew there must be a reason it's there. Personal reasons. So you didn't tell him. "I can't remember anything. Other than falling. And... something else. But I can't put my finger on it," You looked back to the window. Your body still ached, but you didn't care. Why didn't you care? You were so confused.

"We're on Helios. You must know what that is, right? Pandora?" He brought you to his desk, forcing you to look away from Space. You read the nametag on the desk as he placed you on top.

"Handsome Jack," Your eyebrows knitted together. God, your head hurt. More than anything else. "Jack," You repeated. Squinting your eyes, you stared at the name tag. Then to the picture frame at the end of the desk. You picked it up, ignoring the so-called Handsome Jack's voice telling you to stop, and looked right into it. "Your daughter, right? What was her name?" You whispered to yourself. Suddenly, it was like a lightbulb formed over your head. "You always said you wanted to name your daughter Angel. That's her name right? Your Angel?" You looked back to Jack, who looked at you like you were crazy. "What?"

"What's your name?" He ignored your question, and sat back in his chair, looking deep into your eyes. He was suspicious. You shook your head.

"I don't know." Jack wasn't buying it.

"Then what do I call you?"

"I don't know that, either. A fucking wreck?" You laughed, looking back to your skin. It made your stomach churn in disgust. "Sorry for falling into your office, I think."

"Well until we figure out what your whole deal is, who you are, if you're a threat, yada yada yada, all that jazz," Jack swirled in his chair, before sitting up and wiping his hands off from imaginary dust. "You'll stay here. Tests will be run on you, and you'll be given a room and shit. We'll fill you in on our rules. And don't say no to me, pumpkin," He smirked, walking in front of you and placing his hands on your legs as he stared you down. "Because one, never say no to Handsome goddamn Jack, I don't like the word," For some unknown reason, you felt like you knew that rule very well.

"And two, well, it's fairly obvious kitten. You don't have any other choice."
