As I walk towards my dad's office, I debate on whether I should tell him or not.

If I do, he's gonna stress out and cancel dinner.

But I can't just not let anyone know.

I decide to tell my best friend, Marissa- but later.

I finally swallow down today's events and knock on my dad's office door.

"Come in!" I hear.

"Hey dad." I smile.

"Hi sweetheart," He smiles back, logging off his computer,"Ready to go?"

"Yeah, how was work?" I ask following him out.

"Boring, how about you?" He laughs.I laugh too,

"Boring," I lie.

We take separate cars since I had to drive my car over. I turn on my car radio to break the eery silence in my car.

I was humming along to a song, when my phone buzzed.

I look over at it, not being able to see it from the angle it was at. I pick it up at a stoplight to see that same number.

you got away tonight, lucky you

I don't respond as my breathing speeds up.

dont tell your dad, or else

I ignore the text again. I won't let this interfere with tonight.

The light turns green and I start driving again.

"Wait, what?!"My dad laughs.

"Yeah, the kid kept pulling on my co-workers apron because he wanted to be a kangaroo." I throw my head back in laughter showing my dad the video.

"God, I wish I had that job." He sighs settling down.

"Is everything okay at work?" I ask seriously.

"Yeah, just tired of the behind a desk thing you know, so many other careers, nothing really has happened in the office besides my promotion from cubicle to office."

"That's okay Dad, we can share my extraordinary career!" I laugh.

He eventually chuckles again, taking a fry from my plate.

"Hey!" I lightly scold.

"I'm your dad and I payed for it so it's technically the fries are mine too." He says lying back.

"Sorry." I laugh digging through my purse.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom."He says.

I know he's just stressed and he feels a little out of power in his job right now so I let it go.

I watch everyone's snapchats about their Christmas trees being put up and the lights around their house and smile. I love Christmas.
