Experience

I never had my first kiss,
an experience I had to miss.
I'm not upset at all,
I like the way things are.

I see the people around me,
some of them stare jealously.
They think I'm heartbroken free,
but they don't know half of my story.

They think that I know nothing
about what love has to bring.
Little do they know that I'm well aware
of how it leaves people spiraling in despair.

If there's anything I've learned,
it's that my inexperience will be forever on my skin, burned.
However love comes in various forms;
streams, rivers, seas and storms.

You do not necessarily need a lover
to have your heart break and bend.
All you need is to love a person who loves you,
and for them to not give a damn anymore.
Who knew?
