As the conversation goes on, we can't help but stare at the two of them in confusion.

"Miss Faragonda, I hate to interrupt but what are you talking about?" Bloom finally speaks.

"Oh, my apologies," Miss Faragonda says, gathering loose papers on her desk.

"We believe there is a reason for the return of the Wizards, and why they took Flora," Grazelda says.

Miss Faragonda explains that she thinks there is a chance that Flora has a condition, that was nothing more than an ancient myth, but still possible. Apparently it happens when someone from good or bad takes the opposing energy as their strength.

"It can be a good thing, but there is a fine line between use of dark magic and pure evil. This "condition" has to be unlocked with a spell that only certain wizards or witches could do, but most of them are long gone," Miss Faragonda explains.

"So does that mean we're safe?" I ask.

"Not exactly," Miss Grazelda shakes her head.

"Go on," Miss Faragonda nods at her.

"We believe," she takes a deep breath, "that the Wizards were brought back to life by those who could unlock the power."

"What does that mean?" Aisha asks.

"Their bodies were recovered by the ancient wizards and witches and the Wizards of the Black Circle must have been found worthy to hold their power," she explains.

She rummages through her drawer and finds an old book and blows the dust off it, causing us all to cough.

"This," she holds the book up, "is the final key to unlocking the full power. The Wizards of the Black Circle need it."

"So you mean, they'll be coming here?" Stella gasps.

"No," she shakes her head, "Flora will."

"But why?" Musa asks.

"Because Flora needs to do the spell,"  Miss Faragonda sighs.

"But that doesn't make any sense, Miss! Flora won't want to do it!" Aisha exclaims.

"I'm afraid she won't realise what she is doing. If I am correct, the Wizards will have full control of her mind," she frowns.

"But we have a plan," Grazelda says.

Bloom POV

It was late at night and the sun was beginning to set.

"You really think this is going to work, Sky? What if she doesn't show up?" I ask him quietly.

"We've been through this all day, Bloom, it'll be fine," he re-assures me.

I nod and duck further beneath the bush, motioning for Sky to follow. We part the bushes slightly and gaze out onto the school campus.

Miss Faragonda was right. We spot Flora walking up to the entrance. I quickly text Stella to let her know.

Stella POV

Brandon and I read the message and get ready.
Flora walks by and I nod towards him. Brandon throws his potion at her and she stops. We duck behind the wall and hold our breaths.

Seconds later, she begins walking again, almost like a zombie. But her walk soon turns limp, probably the effects of the potion to decrease her strength.

Wow, they really have brainwashed her, I thought.

Brandon points to my pocket and motions with his hands to text Aisha and Musa.

Tecna POV

I can feel her getting closer as I duck behind the desk. An identical, but fake book is on the table. We put the original in the secret archive to keep it safe.

I hear the door opening and closing. I hear Timmy and Helia put her to sleep as gently as possible, but she seems to put up a fight.

Finally, she falls asleep and we take her to Miss Faragonda and the other teachers.

Timmy and I walk ahead, and as we exit I can just hear Helia faintly whisper, "stay strong Flora. I love you."
