Chapter Seven..

"Ugh" I groaned in pain as I open my eyes.

I'm now in a plain white room and by the looks of it, it must be the school clinic. The moment Chase carried me flashed back in my mind. He's face, the way he looked at me made my heart skipped a beat. I know it was wrong to feel that way because I have Grae waiting for me outside. Na-attract lang siguro ako sa kanya.. oo 'yun lang siguro.

"Gahd! You're already awake," isang yakap ang agad na bungad ni Rachel ng pumasok siya sa loob ng kwarto na tinutulugan ko.

Worry was all I can picture out from her face.

"We're so d-amn worried 'bout you yesterday. Hindi mo lang alam pero kung saan-saan ka namin hinanap. Look at you, napahamak ka nanaman tuloy," a weak smile form from my face.

Why is she like this? Halos dalawang linggo pa lang ako sa school na ito pero grabe na ang pag-aalala niya sa akin. I feel so blessed, masyado akong maswerte para magkaroon ng kaibigan na katulad ni Rachel. Kaya dapat ko siyang ingatan.. silang lahat rather.

"I'm sorry," mahinang sabi ko, dahan-dahan siyang humiwalay sa pagkakayakap sa akin.

Masakit ang katawan ko pero hindi ko na yun pinansin nung niyakap niya ako. Ayoko naman ng mag-inarte. Tsaka halatang halata ang pag-aalala sa mukha niya kaya ayokong sirain yung moment.

"You don't have to say sorry Sarah, the mere fact that you're now okay is enough for me, but please... wag ka na sanang umalis ng walang pasabi sa amin," I nodded as she sat down beside me.

"I'm really sorry Rachel, I promise okay? From now on makikinig na ako sa inyo," a smile glitter from her face.

"That's good to hear Sarah, alam mo naman na kasi di ba? It's not safe in here," I sighed as I rest my back from the headrest of the bed I'm lying.

"Can you please tell why it's not safe in here? I just need to know,"

Rachel sighed. She becomes stiff after I said those words.

"It's.. It's.."

She was hesitant to tell me, I can see it on her face. Ano ba talagang meron? I held her hand, she then gave me a weak smile.

"Please Rachel.. tell me,"

That's when she heaved for a heavy sigh, it was like sobrang hirap ng tanong na ibinato ko sa kanya. She transfered her stare at the window that's next my bed before saying a word.

"Emerie wasn't really like this before, normal ang lahat. Gadgets are allowed, we can go home every weekend and outsiders are sometimes allowed to visit us. It wasn't really as strict like it was right now.."

"..I already told you that it's fun in here, that's true pero mas masaya talaga noon. Until everything suddenly fall out of place. One of our schoolmate had been found dead, she was murdered.."

My face crinkled, what the fck! Her last words send shivers to my spine.

".. and that schoolmate I'm talking about is Zyana Andersen, Chase's girlfriend,"

My eyes widened, parang tumigil ang mundo ko sa sinabi ni Rachel. I've never thought that Emerie High has a deep dark secret like this. And the saddest part is si Chase ang pinakanaapektuhan. Kung tinanggap ko pala ang proposal ni Vlad edi mas masasaktan lang si Chase. I just made a right choice, masyadong malala ang pinagdaanan ni Chase, I know another broken heart is going to be unbearable for him.
