"Now, tell me more about this guy that you have been talking about." he said.

What am I gonna tell him? I cant just tell him right on the face that the guy I'm talking about is him. It would be a risk If I did. Our friendship would be ruined. All those years of being there and accepting each others flaws. The fact that we stood a lot of obstacles together. the fact that for more than a decade we managed to still be the best of friends. I don't want to lose him. I don't want to lose us. I am willing  to sacrifice my  own happiness  for our friendship, for Thomas. I'm just gonna pretend that there's this guy that makes my world go round and how he makes me happy. I am scared of lying, scared of Thomas noticing that he is 'him' that he was  the guy I've been talking about so I have to be careful.

"I know him for quite some time now and-----' before I could finish what I was saying the sound of my phone ringing came piercing through the air. Saved by the bell you might say.

I took out my phone and the name of my publisher came flashing in the screen. Well I am a published author with two books out there if you didn't know. ' I need to take this' I said and you just nodded in response.

" Anne where in the world are you? Why didn't come to the office today?"  Laura, my publisher, said.

" I went out with an old friend besides I'm still working on the third novel I am not even halfway through. Don't I deserve a day off?" I said.

"Yes, yes I understand, Anyway that is not the reason why I called. I have some news for  you... You know your book ' Like No Other ' its No. 1" Laura said very excited.

"Are you kidding me?? but it was  published about a month ago! There is no way that is happening." I said sounding dumbfounded.

" people loved your first book so much that they wanted your second novel and every critic said that this is considered one of the classics of this generation" Laura mentioned.

" I cant believe this right now. Oh my.." I said.

"This makes 'Like no other' the fastest selling novel on this planet right now." Laura said.

"Oh, and you need to get your ass over here as soon as possible. How much time do you need?" She added.

"Can you give me three hours" I said, my voice lowering at the end.

"Three hours?? Where the hell are you? I am sending someone to pick you up." She said.

"You don't need to I got here perfectly fine and I'm pretty sure I can get out on my own" I said.

" It is not a question Anne. Its a demand, send me your location and ill find someone to get you."

"Okay." That was all I managed to say. She is still my boss and she could easily sign me off if she wanted to.

.......

"Who was that? Is everything okay?" Thomas asked.

I could see the worry in his eyes so I decided to play an act.

"Well, ( I faked cry..)" I said while sniffing.

"Anne, What the hell happened? Are you okay? Of course you're not; how dumb of me to ask. Well you're crying so something is obviously wrong. Can you just tell me?" He continued to ramble.

Can I just say how cute he looked when he was worried. but anyway after he stopped rambling I just laughed at him and he looked at me like I was going insane. I kept on beaming ' I GOT YOU!!' ' I GOT YOU!!' and continued on laughing. Then Thomas engulfed me in a hug and whispered " I was so worried... Don't ever do that again". My heart melted with his words that time. When I was about to let go, He hugged me even harder. I was scared that he might feel how fast my heart is beating at that moment. I was paralyzed when he held me. All I could feel was his arms around my waist and his breath tingling on my neck.

Then he drew his head back and pressed his forehead on mine, Thomas lifted his hands to my cheeks. Our lips almost touching. We just looked on each others eyes having that longing look on both of our gazes. both of us leaned in but I hesitated at the last moment. I let go.

"I should probably get my things ready, someone is going to pick me up." I said sounding quite embarrassed.

"I could drive you where ever you need to go." He said.

"My publisher called, she needs me and the one who will fetch me will probably arrive any moment." I said.

"Okay. But will I see you again?" He said sounding quite hopeful.

I just smiled at you and left
