I woke up the next morning with a start. This was not my bed, this was not my room. Oh yeah, I was at Jaxon's pack house. I recalled that after Jaxon left, I went in search of the library. I must have fallen asleep in there while reading. How did I end up back in here though?

"Morning sunshine!" Jaxon called from the doorway. He held a breakfast tray filled with french toast, sausage, and fruit. "I brought breakfast." He set it in front of me and sat on the edge of my bed.

"How did I end up here?" I said grabbing some sausage.

"I carried you of course. I didn't want to wake you. " He replied grabbing a few off the plate.

"Oh." I stuffed my face with french toast. God this tasted like heaven.

"I'm really sorry about yesterday. It took a lot longer than I thought." He looked genuinely upset about it.

"It's fine." I said waving it off.

"No, I should have let you know or at least sent someone to tell you."

"This french toast is really good. Who made it?" I shoved another piece in my mouth changing the subject.

"Nice subject change, but Bertha did. She insisted actually." I nodded my head at that and took another bite.

"I blocked off the whole day so we could spend it together and so I can woo you." He swiped a sausage link off my plate.

"Woo me?" I raised my eyebrow at that.

"Yes, woo you." This ought to be interesting. I've never been wooed before. But then again, we don't really date because there's no point. Mates don't usually need to be wooed, at least none that I've heard of.

"What'd you have in mind?"

"It's-" He started.

"I swear, if you say surprise, I'm gonna slap you." I narrowed my eyes at him.

"As I was saying. It's gonna be something fun." I stared at him. "Trust me, it'll be fun, you'll like it." He said that with complete confidence.

"How do you know that? We barely know each other." I say pointing a sausage at him. "You don't know what I like and what I dislike." I take a bite out of the sausage.

"Well, that's why we are spending the day together. To get to know the likes and dislikes." He swipes another sausage from my plate. "Now, hurry up and get dressed so we can get this day of wooing started."

"Ready, set. Hey! You little cheater!" He called after me before taking off. He was showing me the grounds outside and we decided to have a little race.

"What can I say?" I call behind me. Just as I turn around, I feel someone grab me by the waist from behind, and turn me around so I'm facing the opposite direction of where I was headed. He lets go before taking off ahead of me.

"Who's the cheater now?" I call after him trying to catch up.

"What can I say?" Jaxon throws my words back at me. "Just trying to keep it fair." He, of course, reaches the tree before I do. The cheater. He smirks at me, gloating.

"We both know you would have won anyways. Being all alpha male and all." I hate it but it's true. He would have one, but I was damn sure gonna try and win anyways.

"Technically, I'm not all 'alpha male' yet." He pointedly looks at me. I roll my eyes at him.

"Technicalities." I look around to see where we were. Um trees, trees, a bird, trees. Yeah still in the forest. "So, anything interesting out here?" I turn back to look at him, to see that he's already looking at me. For some reason it takes me by surprise.
