Liam's POV
I wake up to the sound of the birds chirping outside my window. I sit in my bed and stretch my muscles from their tightness. I get up and put on a t shirt and a simple pair of blue jeans. I run my eyes and walk into Carly's room. I see her small, fragile and tender figure in the dark room. I tip toe into the room and closer to the bed. I quietly grab her sleeping body and lay her on my lap as I hug her. I kiss her head and hold onto her like my life depends on her. After Nick's sixteenth apology, I forgave h but told him to never come to my house anymore. I feel Carly move slightly and I flinch. She whimpers as she stretches and yawns as I avoid her smelt morning breath.
"Morning." She murmurs to me as she fully hugs me.
"Morning Princess." I say as I kiss her cheek. I carry her to the kitchen and set her down on a chair. I go to the fridge and get the mixtures to make her favorite pancakes. I mix it all up and cook them on the stove. I turn around and see her face suddenly confused.
"Dad... Today's not Friday morning... It's Monday... You don't cook pancakes today." She says confused and I smile at her as I flip the pancakes to their other uncooked side.
After a couple of minutes, I serve Carly's pancakes and grab myself a bowl of oatmeal and orange juice since Niall told me to at least once a week. It actually keeps my body balanced. I sit down across from her and start eating while Carly hasn't even touched her food yet. I pause and look at her confused face. "What's going on now?" I ask her.
"Is uncle Nick in trouble?" She asks me.
I look at her with a straight and serious look and slowly sigh and nod.
She gasps and her eyes become watery. "It wasn't his fault! I left the toy game and this woman gave me candy! I'm so sorry daddy!" She pleads.
"Why haven't you told Nick that instead of him getting blamed?" I ask her.
"He didn't let me but I tried. He just hugged me and cried." She states.
I nod and she takes her now empty plate and leaves it in the sink. She walks upstairs and into her room without another word. My mind swirls in worry at the thought of Carly actually meeting Danielle. She is the worst human being I've ever known. After she played me, she played Harry, Niall, Louis and basically tried to play Nick but she failed. She really thought by playing my best mates, I would divorce Sophia but it just made me do the complete opposite actually. I renewed our vows and I created a child with her and Danielle couldn't handle that. I quickly feed myself, run to my cellphone and dial Nick's number.
"Nick Bateman." He answers and I smile.
"Hey, how are you?" I ask.
Nick sighs. "Liam...I'm alright. I guess." He notes.
I feel myself tear up. "I'm so sorry for blaming you and cussing at you. Carly said that it was her fault that Danielle took her since she baited her with candy." I tell him.
"It was also my fault since I have her none of my attention and just used my money to let her play." I hear him sniffle and sob a bit. "I'm so sorry!!" He fully on cries.
"Just come by." I tell him and he agrees.
Five minutes later, I hear my door being knocked. I open and see Nick wearing a grey sweater and sunglasses.
"Nick...." I start but he takes off his glasses and reveals his eyes that are weary, red and puffy to show that he was crying.
"I would've been here a lot earlier but my eyes were leaking." He said trying to joke as I pull him into an embrace without another word and I feel him hug me without hesitation. He slowly sobs on my shoulder.
I pat his back while letting him go and lead him to the couch. "I apologize so much so much right now." I tell him.
"You would hate me if you knew my biggest secret. I'm going to share it with you but not yet..... Soon..... But not yet." He says as he kisses my forehead and walks out the door and out of my home.
