'Those damn banana peels.'

It was another normal day–or as normal as any day got at the Ouran High School Host Club. Honey was eating cake, Mori quietly at his side. The twins were up to no good, pestering Haruhi every chance they got. Kyoya was on his laptop, calculating how much the club's next event would cost. Tamaki was prancing around, obsessing over some new fantasy. No one knew what it was about, and no one really wanted to.

The girls had just left, but everyone was there for some emergency meeting Kyoya established. He said he'd be with them after he was done with his work, so they waited by couches, entertaining themselves with their normal host club activities.

After only a few minutes, Kyoya stood, shutting his laptop and slowly making his way toward the group. "Took you long enough." The twins complained. "Me and Kaoru–" "have important things to do later" They looked at each other with mischievous grins, scaring the other hosts.

"I apologize for you all having to wait, but I have important things to discuss with you all. As Vice President of this club, I find it unfair to not include you on some of my decisions" He announced. "Now as you know, our king wanted to have a ball next week. However, having a full sized ball after just going to the beach last week would really impact our budget. So, I'd like to hear your ideas on how to have a nice, cheap party." He explained, sitting beside Tamaki.

It surprised the hosts that he came to them about this. He usually made all the decisions on his own–although always resulting with large success. To want their opinions, especially on how to make it cheaper, was a first.

They all took a few seconds to process this information, then gradually, all heads turned toward Haruhi. Her eyes widened as she noticed the attention suddenly on her. "You're all looking at me because you expect I have a good idea, right?" She said, in a monotonous tone. They all nodded, innocent smiles on their faces.

"Well I'm sorry, but I've never planned an entire ball before. I wouldn't even know where to begin." Haruhi paused, casually adding "although I do know a few cheap catering companies."

The hosts all laughed at this, thinking 'Typical Haruhi, always thinking about food.'

"We don't expect you to plan the whole thing on your own. Any helpful tips you may have will be appreciated." Kyoya put on his fake smile, which Tamaki quickly noticed. 'Why is he coming to us in the first place? Usually he can plan an entire thing like this in a matter of hours...' Tamaki thought to himself.

They continued to discuss the subject, then decided on a 'commoner themed' ball. That way, they wouldn't seem like the only cheap ones there. They'd let the girls have fun with it, by telling them to buy cheap dresses, or sew their own. Their meals would be small and with less fancy foods.

Once everything was planned, the hosts said their goodbyes, all eventually leaving until it was just Tamaki and Kyoya.

"So what's the real reason for you going to them." Tamaki asked, walking up to Kyoya who was packing up his laptop. "I told you, with all the activities you've been planning lately, we wouldn't have enough money in our budget for an extravagant ball." Kyoya replied, avoiding eye-contact with the blonde.

"Everyone's gone now. It's just me and you. So you can tell me the truth now."

Kyoya let out a long sigh. "Well, I just figured asking for their opinion would..."

'Make you happy' Kyoya thought about responding, but instead said "give better, more interesting results then anything I could come up with. It was a bit of a test, to see if they could actually come up with such ideas while also being cost-efficient." He frowned. "I suppose it was somewhat successful." He mumbled.
