Chapter 16: Freaking Out

My eyes widen in horror before I scanned the row of book shelves and peeked out abit to see if someone was there but I was only greeted by Vivian reading silently. I hastily stood up and packed my lunch. I rushed out of the library with a heart thumping wildly.

My feet felt like jelly and my breaths came in pants. My hands started to shake and my eyesight became blurry. Leaning on to some locker. Cold sweat started to form on my forehead and I tried to catch my breath.

Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.

After a few minues of doing that. I sucessfully catched my breath but I can still feel my hands shaking in fear. Suddenly, A hand clamped unto my shoulder making me let out startled scream.

"Woah. Calm down Red. It's just me." Chase voice immediately calmed me down a bit.

"I-I'm sorry. You just startled me." I said avoiding eye contact with him.

"Are you okay? You look like you're gonna passed out." He asked.

"No. No. I'm okay. Just not feeling well." I half lied.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

"Yes. I'm sure. Now can you please leave me alone." I snapped annoyed with him asking too much questions.

He gave me a surprised look.

Turning my heel on him, I decided to go to my next class since there's only 15 minutes left and it wouldn't be bad if I attend the class early.

Turning around the corner a hand suddenly clamped down not on my shoulder but on my mouth and was pulled in the janitor's closet. I started to kick and thrash until I felt a cold sharp metal pointing at my neck.

Knife.

"If I were you I'd stop doing that." An unfamiliar voice said as He unclamped his hand from my mouth but his other hand was pointing the knife at my neck.

Tears sprung to my eyes,"Wh-What do you want from me?" I asked as I try to prevent my tears from falling.

"You." He answered.

I choked on a sob," Why m-me?" I asked.

"Because you my dear happened to have a little gang leader wrapped around your tiny finger." He answered before letting out a dark chuckle.

"I-I don't know who you're talking about." I said as started to sob.

His gripped on my waist tighten to the point that it hurts,"You know well what I'm talking about little girl." He snarled at me applying a little bit of pressure to the knife.

"P-please don't hurt me. I don't know what you're talking about. You must've got the wrong girl." I said as I squirmed in his tight gripped.

"Don't play innocent on me little girl." He said annoyed.

I cried harder than before and my breath came into pants. My hands started to shake.

He let out a sigh,"Stupid girl. I'll be coming to get you in a few days and remember don't tell anyone about this or else it wouldn't turn out good on you." He threatened darkly before pushing me out on the janitor's closet.

I immediately stood up and ran away. The bell had rang a little while ago making the hallway secluded. My eyesight became blurry and my head was greeted with a pounding headache.

I cried out as my knees gave out. My breaths started to turned erratic with my shaking hands I manage to get a hold of my phone and dialed the first person on my speed dials.

It took 3 rings before he answered.

"Ellie? Why are you calling me on class hours?" Alec's worried voice was heard from the other line.

I let out a sob,"P-please help me." I said as black dots started form in my vision.

"What happened? Fuck. Calm down Ellie. Where are you? I'm coming to get you." Alec asked panic clear in his voice.

"Hallway." Was the last thing I remember saying before completely blacking out.
