While Stevie was preparing our dinner, I hugged her from the back. "Love, will you be my date to my ex-wife's wedding?" I asked.

Kristen, my ex-wife, and Alex are tying the knot soon. I will be Kristen's maid-of-honor while Stevie, although invited as a guest, volunteered to be a photographer.

"Of course! I thought you wouldn't ask," she replied. "But how are you feeling now that your ex-wife is getting married again?"

"I am really happy for them."

"Yeah me too. At least Kristen would know how it feels like to be really married."

"Yeah. She deserves better."

"I think you deserve better too."

"Thanks! But I don't think I will be married again."

"Why?"

"I just realized signing a contract defeats love itself. I truly love you, babe, and I will prove it to you in ways I know how. I will make sure it will be worth more than a piece of paper."

I was anticipating a negative reaction from Stevie. I was surprised that she refused to argue.

Ally has been sulky about the upcoming wedding and it sucks. Just when it already feels right to marry her, she is shrugging off the idea. I will never force her to do what she does not want even if it includes getting married.

"Hey Kristen! About your rehearsal dinner..." I said on the phone.

"ALLISON HILLS! IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO SKIP MY REHEARSAL DINNER, DON'T DARE. I WILL HUNT YOU WHEREVER YOU ARE. YOU ARE MY FREAKING MAID OF HONOR!" Kristen answered loud and clear. "YOU HAVE ALREADY MISSED GOWN FITTING AND SHOE SHOPPING. YOU ONLY ATTENDED FOOD TASTING BUT YOU EVEN LEFT EARLY BECAUSE OF SOME OTHER COMMITMENT."

"Calm down. I will be at your rehearsal dinner."

"Breathe in, breathe out." I believed Kristen was talking to herself. "So what about my rehearsal dinner?" I was amazed at how she could switch from frantic to calm in three seconds.

"I will be there but I have a favor to ask."

"Okay speak."

"I have been the worst girlfriend to Stevie for the past few days, pretending I am terrified of getting married again. You know I am not and you know how much I want to marry Stevie."

"Hold on... Are you going to propose?"

"Am I that obvious?"

"To me because we have talked about this. But probably not to Stevie. How can we help?"

"Please put me in speakers so Alex could hear me."

"Oh my gosh Ally! I am so excited about this. What can we do?" Alex then spoke.

"Can we make her catch the bouquet?" I asked them.

"I am not sure how Alex and I can pull that off," Kristen said.

"But at least the chances are doubled. Ha-ha. Can you now tell us how you will do it?" Alex added.

I told them how I planned to do it and they were impressed.

It was the wedding day of Alex and Kristen and I found myself imagining it was Ally and I in those dresses saying our 'I do's.'
