Anna

I took a seat beside Elsa as we settled down with the other students in the Assembly Hall. Standing on a massive stage in the front was Mr. Moon, holding a microphone in his gloved hands.

"Welcome, all, to Disney Academy for gifted, royalty, and let's not forget rebellious!" he boomed, and the chattering in the crowd died down; only a few voices remained speaking excitedly.

Rebellious indeed, I thought to myself happily.

"I know you have all settled in your dorms with your new roommates," Mr. Moon said, "but we under certain circumstances we have received a new student. Blackmist, will you come up here, please?"

A girl stood up from the crowd, and I was surprised I hadn't noticed her before. Her clothing was the darkest I have ever seen on a person; she even had dark brown hair that flowed down to her hips. She had a black leather jacket and dark-grey jeans. The only things she was wearing that were not black were the golden crop top under her jacket and her wedge shoes of the same color.

With a name like that, no wonder her name is Blackmist, I thought, unsurprised as Mr. Moon introduced her.

When she took her seat again, I fought back a scoff of irritation when I saw that she was sitting next to Hans. I rolled my eyes when I saw the hungry look he was giving her, and I couldn't help but think, I hope she punches hard.

Mr. Moon continued to drone on in his speech, but I found it hard to listen. When I glanced at Elsa, I wasn't surprised to see that she was listening adeptly. Then again, she was expected to be a good listener, considering she was Queen of Arendelle. I guess she was used to super boring speeches.

Eventually, to my relief we were handed our schedules, and me among my peers swiftly headed off for our first class of the year. I waved to Elsa as she went after Rapunzel, and she waved back in a stiff raise of her arm, looking distracted.

"Oi! You with the braids! Wait fer me!"

I turned and saw Merida reaching me, her scarlet curls bouncing with her footsteps.

When she reached me, her blue eyes wide and grim. "That lass wearin' all black looks more than a wee shady, if you ask me," she muttered through the corner of her mouth.

"You think it's a women's intuition?" I asked her curiously.

"Aye," Merida agreed, "but it's more like a hunter's intuition; we're always on the lookout fer danger."

"You know, your accent is really interesting," I said to her earnestly. "Although sometimes it's hard to understand what you're saying."

Merida shot me a glare, and I smiled abashedly. "Sorry," I whispered to her as we entered our Magic class.

"Good morning, class," a plump and kind-looking elderly woman said as she adjusted her pointed blue hat. "I'm Professor Merriweather, and here you will all learn how to harness the wonders of magic and use its benefits! Now, if you would all quick grab your textbooks and turn to page two-hundred and ninety-four..."

Jack

I couldn't help but sneak another glance at Elsa. Her hair was down, making it curly; it softly glowed silver in the morning sunlight, and I watched as she got a curl of hair and absentmindedly wrapped it around her index finger.

She picked up her pencil and wrote down what our teacher, Professor Fiona was saying. I didn't bother, as I was hardly paying attention to the lesson. Pretending to work, I sketched an image of the Elsa in my vision—young and innocent.

After a while the bell rang and everyone stood up to leave. I hastily gathered my things and tried to hide the sketch as I left the classroom, being accompanied by Flynn. As we walked down the crowded corridor, Flynn wiggled his eyebrows at me and said, "So what's your opinion on Rapunzel?"

Oh dear hail, I thought, rolling my eyes in exasperation.

"What?" Flynn asked, sounding injured.

"I'm just hoping you won't break another girl's heart," I said knowingly, "making her cry until she's sick with dehydration."

Flynn chose to ignore that comment.

Once I reached my locker that had the rest of my books, I heard someone call my name.

"Jack!"

I turned and was vaguely surprised to see Hiccup running towards me, which was unusual considering he never ran.

"What's up?" I asked, closing my locker.

"You forgot to wait for me," Hiccup reminded, bending over to rest his hands on his knees. "This is why I don't do sports," he wheezed, and I chuckled, "I can see."

Once he pulled himself together, Hiccup reached into his leather rucksack and pulled out a book with an illustration of a dragon on its cover.

"What's that?" I asked, eyeing the book in interest.

"Dragons of Berk," Hiccup explained. "My dad sent it."

"Looks interesting," I said, and Hiccup nodded absently; he never was socially perfect, but then again, neither was I.

I noticed Flynn across the hall hovering near Rapunzel and Elsa, and I cupped my hands around my mouth and called, "Keep your eyes off Rapunzel, Flynn!"

"Rapunzel?" Hiccup asked, looking puzzled.

"She's Elsa's and Anna's cousin," I explained.

Hiccup gave me a funny look. "How do you know that?"

Shoot, I thought. Making an expression that was a mixture of a grimace and a forced smile, I said, "Gee, look at the time! We better head to class!" Ignoring Hiccup's bewildered look, I quickly turned and left.
