He checks his watch again and takes another of his deep sighs. It’s been almost an hour… and she’s not there.
No twinkling eyes…
No charming smile…
No Sarah.
He drops his hand onto his lap, and stares at the huge bouquet on top of the table…
Tulips… her favorite.
“Sir… should we start… uhmm…”
Painfully, he turns his head to the person he just heard speak. He knew the waiter was nervous in approaching him… and he was the unlucky one who gets to ask him what they were all whispering about.
“Ah… mmm…” the waiter was sweating hard, and his voice shrinking upon feeling Lloydie’s stares.
“What?” he coldly asked him.
The waiter looked over his shoulders to see his co-workers anxiously staring at him, waiting for him to ask the lonely man sitting with himself for over an hour. He cleared his throat and shyly looked down to avoid Lloydie’s piercing glare.
