Dreams Getting Weirder

 It was a tough day, all those wedding preparations, catching up

with Chloe and thinking about that weird dream made her go to

bed much earlier any other day.

As usual she relaxed her body by meditating. She felt thankful

for the wonderful people in her life, for her dream of a big

family about to come true, for the gentle music flowing out the

speakers in her room.

All of a sudden the room lit up with a yellow light she didn't

recognize from anywhere else and Chloe appeared. She was wearing

skinny jeans and a black sleeveless tank top. She looked causal

yet stunning.

"Like my jeans, Ava? I just got then at half price in Max Mara

- you should get yourself a pair too! Oh, remember Meldrick? He

wanted to see you again, I let him in." Chloe turned around and

left without a sound.

Ava had forgotten how good looking Meldrick was. His dark hair

was perfectly groomed, and matched his well fitted shirt, which

revealed his muscular arms. It would feel great to be in those

arms, thought Ava. He greeted her with a dazzling smile and

sparkling eyes.

"Hello, Ava. I hope you remember me?" he asked.

"How could I have forgotten."

"I trust you've been well. Chloe said it was all right to see

you."

"Of course," she managed still struck by his image.

"Remember I told you I was from another civilization - the

Lapo? We've been watching over your kind for thousands of years

and I personally have been watching over you since the day you

were born."

"Thank you, I guess but what do you feel that you need to be

watching over me? I'm doing just fine."

"Ava, you are one of a kind. You might not feel this way but

you have in your mind something that entire civilizations have

been looking for for ages. This is why my kind has vowed to

protect your bloodline. And now I am protecting you."

"What exactly are you protecting me from?" asked Ava

"Imagine you had the ability to mentally handcuff anyone. You

could use it to imprison all the criminals and that would be

noble deed. But you could also use it to stop surgeons from

performing operations, or painters from painting, or musicians
