"Good morning Caius, it's a pleasure to see you here with us again." Mrs. Roosevelt smiled at him as he walked in his classroom. "You're late but that's okay, go put your backpack away and sit at your desk."

Caius went to put his backpack away. Julius excused himself from his group and quickly ran over to his brother that he hadn't seen in a while. "Hey Cai." He cheesed. "Hey."

"Did Daddy drop you off?"

"No. Uncle Darius did."

"Excuse me, Julius....." The teacher called, giving them a stern look. "You can speak to your brother at home I'm sure. Please sit down."

Rolling his eyes, Julius went back to his group leaving Caius to slowly trek to his seat in the very front of the class. He took out his journal and pencil starting to write what was on the board when he got poked in the side. Ignoring it, he continued to add up the numbers he had written. The poke came again. Sighing roughly he turned his head to face Elena who sat beside him, her big black eyes resembled a doll's and so did her long blonde hair, she was creepy looking. "Hi Caius." She waved and showed off her gapped smile.

"Sup?"

"Do you like my new dress? My mom made it." She twisted in her seat and touched her dress. Caius nodded his head to please her and so she could leave him alone but it seems like Elena just wouldn't let up. "I bet you'd love it if I took it off."

He raised his eyebrows at her in amusement before shaking his head. "What?" She giggled then leaned over to whisper in his ear so that only he could hear. "I seen a dick on TV and yours is bigger." She burst into laughter and went back into her own personal space, covering her face to hide her laughs.

Caius looked at her in shock, his face blank but his eyes wide. "You are nasty." He commented which Elena took as a compliment. "Thank you." She smiled.

"Mr. Caius Hawkins!" Mrs. Roosevelt had made her way to the front of the class and had depicted her first victim of the day. "Since you and your buddy like to talk so much, how about you read the problem off the board and Elena will tell us the answer."

He looked at her questionably. He was never called to read something out loud. All of his teachers had to have a meeting with Riley and the principal before each school year to talk about him and Julius. One of the most important rules and regulations was that Caius couldn't read out loud. It wasn't that he wasn't physically capable of reading, he wasn't mentally capable.

Julius scrunched up his face from his spot in the corner near Phillip and Adam, he pushed his glasses up his nose and decided to speak up noticing the stumped look on Cai's face. "Uh... Mrs. Roose-"

"Shut it! Caius should be the only one speaking. Come on boy, what does the problem say?"

Caius took in a deep breath and looked at the board. "Umm... It says... that.... Kim.... Kim is 10 years..." Abruptly he stopped and looked to the corner of the classroom in surprise.

"Caius... continue. Kim is 10 years old.... now what?"

"Uh..." Caius struggled to remove his eyes from the images he could see moving around him and finally got to the board again. "Kim's mother is...." The voices came strong, overpowering his own voice that was reading the words. Now he didn't know what the words were. He was weak now, the visions took advantage of it and now he couldn't see the board.

The classroom was silent until Deshaun piped up in the back of the classroom. "Caius can't read!" He yelled and laughed obnoxiously making some of the other children laugh.

"Deshaun do you want to leave my classroom? Be quiet!" Mrs. Roosevelt quickly defused the problem. "Okay so the problem says.. Kim is 10 years old and Kim's mother is 4 times that age. So how old is Kim's mother?.. What did you get Elena?"

"Fourty."

"Okay, did anybody get anything different?" She looked around the classroom. "Okay, you're correct Elena. Put your journals up and....."

Caius zoned out, not listening to anything else that was being said. He sat in his seat and stared at the top of his desk in a daze.

Julius peeked over at his brother every five seconds to see he was still not responding to anything anyone said or did to him. One thing J did know was that he was definitely snitching on his teacher to his mother.

By the time lunch was over, recess had come and all the fourth graders ran around the playground. The teachers stood by the swings and surveyed the area to keep an eye on all the children the best that they could. Julius and his friends sat at the top of the monkey bars talking but he wasn't focused on the conversation, he was scoping his brother out, looking for where he was.

Unbeknownst to everyone, Caius had drug Deshaun by his arms behind the bushes. He stood above his freightened peer with a smirk on his face. Deshaun had fear in his eyes and he tried to sit up but Caius just kicked him back down.

"I was joking! Stop! I'm gonna tell!"

"Fuck that. I can't read bitch? Read my lips!" Caius mouthed the words fuck you before using his foot again to stomp of Deshaun's stomach and chest.

Deshaun cried out in weak gasps of air. Tears started to slip from his eyes from the pain. "I! can! fucking! read!" Caius shouted with each stomp before stopping to catch his breath. "Stupid ass nigga." He mumbled as he walked away from the bushes, fixing the collar to his shirt.

Julius spotted him and jumped off of the monkey bars, rushing over to his twin brother. "There you are..." He said once he reached him. "Sorry about what happened earlier. I'm gonna tell mama."

"What you gonna tell her for? She can't do nothing." Caius side eyed him.

"She can fight Mrs. Roosevelt."

"Tuh." Caius chuckled and shook his head. "She just talk shit. Cause dad would bet her ass in a heart beat. She can't do nothing."

Julius thought about when he witnessed his father beat his mother and shook his head. "What does that have to do with our teacher? She can beat up our teacher, she's old."

"Cause she's weak and run her mouth all the time but don't do shit. That's why I'm glad I don't live with you guys anymore. I like living with daddy."

"What do you do at daddy's house?"

"I see so many girls and he lets me smoke."

"Oooh! I'm gonna ask if I can spend the night."

"Yeah ask. Then we can go in the woods and shoot something. Then daddy can buy you a gun too." Julius's eyes lit up at that. "I hate this school." Caius admitted and looked at his classmates around him in disgust. "When I get older, I'm not gonna go to school. I hate everybody in this bitch."

"Daddy gonna let you stay home too?"
"Probably."

"Wow."

The two stood in silence for a second before Ju remembered something he had to share with his brother since he didn't see him on a daily basis anymore. "You know they found Asia right?" He asked Cai.

"Yeah. I haven't seen her though."

"I heard mama say to grandma that Asia said that daddy kissed her."
