Jessica's p.o.v

I'm 15, my birthday is on June 7th, which is 10 days from now. I live in a house in western Sydney, where I was born and raised. I am part kiwi and part Scottish, just like my brother Calum.

He's 17, older and wiser, well that's what everyone says anyway. When in reality it's me, Calum loves the music whereas I love the maths. We're like completely different people in personalities, but in looks, you could say we look alike.

"Calum!" I yelled up the stairs, hoping to actually get him up this time. This is the problem with being the smart one in the family, you had to be an alarm clock for the dumb ones who didn't know how to activate one.

I sighed as the only thing that came back was silence, is he seriously going to do this again? Running up the stairs, two at a time might I add, I walked into his room to see him asleep on his bed. His lips were parted open and drool was seeping out of his mouth as he snored, I scrunched my face up in disgust as I looked over the boy who was unfortunately, my brother.

"Idiot." I muttered under my breath, as I walked over to his window, stepping over his dirty washing and "study books" in the process.

I finally reached it and pulled the curtains across, the light entering the room like some sort of laser. Coincidentally the light bounced off the mirror that was placed in the corner of his room, causing the light to go into his eyes.

He let out a groan as out of reflex, he brought the covers over his head to cover the brightness of the light. I shook my head and laughed to myself as I walked over to him and pulled the covers off him and threw them across the room.

"Why would you do that?" He whined, his eyes still half shut as they adjusted to the light. His arm went above his head as he squinted at me, showing off what little clothes he had on.

"You have to get up." I spoke sternly, standing there with my hands on my hips as I stared at him. He let out another groan as he turned his head and buried it into the dark pillow underneath him.

"I don't have to get up." He replied, his voice muffled as he was speaking into the pillow. "I'm sick."

I rolled my eyes as he used his bad acting skills to try and cough but I knew him too well. I walked over to the door and turned around to face him. "Get up, Luke will be here in half an hour."

I pulled his door closed, then walked back down the stairs grabbing my school bag and an apple to eat on the way there.

"Did you get him up." My mother called from the living room, where she normally is in the mornings.

"I think so." I replied, as I looked up the stairs. Soon enough Calum appeared, standing at the top of the stairs as he glared at me.

"Where's Luke?" He groggily said as he stumbled down the stairs. I let out a laugh as I watched him. By the time he reached the bottom, the door burst open and in came blonde hair.

"I am here." He spoke in a deep voice as he dramatically slid across the hallway to the stairs. Calum rolled his eyes, but soon let out a smirk as he watched Luke flex what little muscle he had.

"Luke you need to go to the gym." Calum laughed. Luke stood there shocked but pouted and stopped what he was doing.

"You don't have to go to the gym." I shook my head at Calum where he scoffed and walked off to the kitchen. Calum always thought I had a crush on Luke, which was an understatement because Luke was hot. But he always makes a big deal about it as if he was jealous.

"I'm off then." My mother called to us as she walked out of the living room. She went over to Calum first, as Calum was her favourite, and kissed him on the cheek, giving him a hug. She then walked over to me and did the same, smiling at Luke before she walked over to the door.

She turned around to us and waved, we all waved back saying our goodbyes and before we knew it, she was out the door. I turned around to the two boys who decided that it was appropriate to spray silly string around the house.

"Where did you get that?" I asked, pointing to the can in Luke's hand.

"Oh, you know from the shop down the street." He smirked making me roll my eyes, he mimicked me by rolling his eyes too. How old were these boys?

"We better get going anyway." Luke said as he placed the can on the side. I shook my head as I pointed to Luke. "Your cleaning." I smirked and walked out of the door walking over to Luke's car.

Calum followed behind me, the idiot decided to leave Luke in the house again. I let out a sigh as I climbed into the passenger seat, Calum sitting just behind me.

"Leaving Luke in the house, on his own, is not a good idea." I mumbled as we waited for him. Calum let out a chuckle before saying, "what's the worst he could do."

Just then an alarm went off from inside the house, I looked back over at Calum in shock as we ran out of the car and into the house. My eyes widened in shock at the mess in front of me.

"That." I replied, turning around to Calum to see a shocked look on his face, not expecting this at all.

Luke Robert Hemmings, just set our kitchen on fire.
