The scent of cinnamon and axe enclosed around my senses, lulling me into a sense of safety and warmth. My muscles unconsciously relaxed as the scent of Kael intruded my body. He said something but I wasn't quite sure what, seeing as I'd been perving over him.
"What?" I questioned as blush took place over my cheeks.
"I was wondering if you're alright? But I think I got my answer..." He replied quietly as worry shone through his eyes.
"I'm sorry." I whisper watching every detail of his face.
"What? What for?" His brow furrows in confusion.
"Everything. For coming into your life and screwing things up. For keeping a hostage in your home. For getting between you and the boys... For.. For leaving." I look away from him as I say the last part, tears clouding my eyes.
"Oh sweetheart... Don't ever apologize for any of that, even for... Leaving. I've never seen the guys this happy before, they love you as though you were one of their own. Caiden's so happy that you're back, it's like a part of him was missing the entire time..." He tells me as he tilts my face back to look at him.
"What about you? The boys aren't all your world should revolve around... And me leaving... I didn't want to. I did it to keep you safe, that was the only reason I left. It wasn't for me, it was for all of you. I'd seen how happy you all were and then everything with Venti happened and I hated to see you like that... You looked broken, it broke me seeing you like that. That was the only reason I left." I whisper, trailing a finger along his jawline. God damn him and his good looks.
He would be the death of me.
At my admission his eyes widened. "You left to protect us?" I could only nod in response.
Before I could think it through I broke the little distance between us, slowly I descend my lips to his. My fingers twining within his hair as his arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer. Our lips met in a soft embrace, dancing with each other, caressing. It wasn't a demanding kiss, it was a kiss that showed how much we cared for each other.
Taking the lead I nibbled on his lip, not a demand more of a question. Without hesitance Kael tilted my head and opened himself to me. Our tongues meeting in the same kiss as before, soft, gentle, caressing. Loving.
After a while we broke apart from each other, our breaths labored as our foreheads rested against each other.
I pecked him on the lips before laying my head against his shoulder and curling up on his lap. His fingers previously laced in my hair began to untangled, smoothly trailing the length of my hair.
We'd been sitting in silence for a few minutes when we heard voices from the stairs.
"Do you think they're finished making out?" Cole questioned.
"I hope so, walking in on them was pretty awkward..." Caiden responds.
"Hey at least they didn't catch us." Cole states.
"Shit that would've been even worse."
"Should we just walk in?" Clearly they'd come to a decision as all five walked in.
"Boys" I greet them.
"Hey Bubbles." Caiden grins at me when I give him the middle fingered salute.
"What time is it?" I question them.
"Umm..." River pulls out his phone "4:20 p.m."
"Good. We need to talk." I stated, this instantly put the boys in a serious mood. Each of them taking a seat and waiting for me to begin.
