it was monday afternoon, school had just ended, and we were going to practice. all three of us were surprised to see yoongi sitting there, his cello ready to be played.
"what are you doing?" namjoon spoke our thoughts. i don't know why he was here, after we just ignored him at the tea shop.
"i'm here for practice," he said. his eyes met mine, but i turned my gaze.
"oh, i didn't expect you to actually be here since we're not cool enough for you," ariel spat. "i mean, we are the band geeks, aren't we?"
yoongi sighed, setting down his bow. "guys, look-"
"look at what an asshole you are? i've already seen it," ariel cut him off.
"namjoon, please-"
"you're seriously trying to get me on your side?" namjoon scoffed, turning away. yoongi looked at me, pleading with his eyes.
"misty."
"guys.. maybe we should give him a chance.." i said hesitantly.
"what!?" they both exclaimed, looking at me incredulously.
"you know what? call me when you're thinking straight," ariel said, walking out. namjoon gave me one last glance before following. i sat down next to you.
"thank you," he said, smiling softly. "misty, listen. i have to tell you something."
"yes?" my heart was pounding. was he going to tell me he liked me as well? would all my efforts to keep him happy be worth it?
"you've been such a great friend to me, honestly. even when namjoon and ariel didn't believe in me.. you did. and i thank you for that; you're like a little sister to me." he smiled, placing his hand on my shoulder. i froze, and stood up.
"don't bother coming to practice tomorrow. or any of them, for that matter."
