"remember ones that loved you. remember the ones that didn't give two shits about what other people say. cause if you don't, they won't either."

*~*~*~*~*~*

her eyes opened.

they squinted at the light that flickered above her.

she tried to sit up,

but and old, wrinkly lady stopped her.

"oh, I wouldn't do that if I were you, dearie."

she fully sat up,

but soon understood what the lady meant when she felt pin needles and jack hammers angrily clawing at her skull.

she winced when the pain didn't stop.

the lady walked into the room again with a bottle of water.

m a r a frowned.

where are her pills?

did she lose them?

"um, where are my pills?"

the lady looked at her incredulously.

"are you crazy?? that's why you're here in the first place. you're not allowed to take pills until you see a real doctor."

what the hell happened?

did she faint?

the old woman let out a hearty chuckle, walking into the secretary office, mumbling something about 'kids these days'.

m a r a took her chance,

slipped off the bed,

and tip toed over to the door,

opening it with little to no effort.

walking bare foot outside,

her little feet met the cold floor.

the horizons always looked amazing this time of day.

when the colors mixed, preparing for the evening hues.

the hallways were empty when she made it to the second wing of the school.

did everyone leave already?

what's happening?

suddenly, a body jumped out from in between one of the lockers,

startling itself and m a r a.

their eyes widened.

the perspiration on their faces dripped with nerves and slight fear.

she was confused as to why though.

thinking quick,

m a r a turned,

passing the person and saw the commotion.

"wait, m a r a, don't go there!"

but it was too late.

she saw.

the students that stood on the sides,

recording something seemingly interesting,

the teachers surrounding a boy with blonde hair and grey streaks
with bags under his eyes.

her gasp turned the heads of the students and teachers,

and everything got quiet.

her eyes focused on her brother,

her brother covered in blood.

a lot of blood.

it was everywhere.

on the walls.

on the floors.

on him.

and in that moment,

all she saw was him.

with blood on his hands,

and guilt floating in his grey eyes.

the blood on the body,

the blood on him.

and the pieces fit together.

i s i a h did this.

the bile in her stomach rose,

but she held it in.

her tears, however,

were a different story.

sincerely, m a r a.
