Unexpected [Steven Universe Reader Insert ]

Chapter 1 - The Warm Welcome

    [ Writing two chapters in one day because I have nothing better to do with my life. <3 ]

     You trudge throughout your home, angry at the world. The dream you had last night was probably one of the best you've ever had. But why you were so angry about that, is because you literally FORGOT 90% of it. But you won't  pay attention much to it now. You had other things to do.

     You had decided today you'd go explore the rest of the city, possibly introduce yourself to some of the locals. It was summer, so most people will probably be out today. 'Maybe I should grab a swimsuit or something? Just in case?' You think to yourself. You shake your head. "No, I'll just wear a sundress. " you murmur. You head downstairs, having finished your morning routine. You really needed some coffee. 

     You walk out of your room, into the hallway and out into the kitchen. You prepare some bland breakfast, made of just some boring toast and your normal coffee. You were too lazy to make anything else today. But you would pack some lunch for later. 

    Thinking of which, you walk to the small supply closet and grab your favorite woven basket. The reason it was your favorite was because your mother made it when she was your age, and brought it with her when she moved to her first house. And maybe because of it's [F/C] bow, but y'know.

    You set the basket on the counter, decided to pack lunch later after you watch tv. You wanted to catch up on your favorite show, [F/TvS]. It had aired a new episode last night, and you were roarin' and ready to see it. You sprint into your living room, plopping on your couch. You swiftly grab your remote, flicking through your recordings. Once you come across it, you press 'Play'. You watch the opening sequence, excitedly bouncing in your chair.

     You raise the remote, flicking off the tv. It was an... Okay episode. But it didn't live up to your expectations. You were kinda disappointed, to be honest. You look to the clock next to you, realizing it was probably about time to go out. You scurry upstairs, changing into your favorite [F/Flower] patterned sundress (( With a one piece swimsuit underneath just in case. )). You had packed up your basket with some of your favorite sandwiches and some juice boxes, and was ready to head out the door. You walk over to the door, before remembering two crucial things before leaving the house : 1. Your car keys, and 2. Your shoes. You grab your keys, setting them in the basket. You then slipped on a pair of sandals, and headed out the door.

    You walk up your van, opening the passenger door and putting your stuff inside. You shut the door, heading over to the drivers seat. You hop inside, starting up the car. You pull out of your driveway, and head out. 

    You drive down the street, seeing various posters about a summer firework show tonight. It sounded fun, mostly because you haven't seen any fireworks since you lived with your parents. So, three years ago is when you last saw fireworks. Yay. You decided in your head you would go see that. You drive up to the beach, a few people actually being outside today. You park on the sand, stepping out of the large van. You walk over to the passenger side, grabbing your basket. You shut and lock the doors, walking further near the ocean. 

    You set up a towel and an umbrella, making yourself comfortable on the hot day. It wasn't as noisy as you would've expected. But there was some chatter here and there. A few voices stood out most, though.

"Garnet! Don't you think this is a great day for the beach?"

"Yes, Steven. It's nice. "

"Yes, Steven, this is a nice day to go outside! Get some fresh air, instead of being inside doing other things. "

"Things nice, like NOT burning under the sun."

"Oh, be quiet Amethyst. This is a good day. "

" Psh, yeah it is. Wa-a-a-ay too hot. "

"Well, go in the water Amethyst! That'll cool you down. "

" You know what, Steven? That idea's not half bad. " 

A loud splash was heard, a few drops of water landing on you. You ignore it, continuing to unconsciously eavesdrop. 

"Well, now that Amethyst's in the water, why don't we set up our towels and stuff? " 

" Oh don't worry, I'll do all that. You and Garnet go have fun. "

" Okay, Pearl! " 

     Footsteps were heard as they walk to the water. You open your eyes and sit up. Apparently, just in time to almost get hit with a volleyball. You quickly caught it in your hands, thanking school for your years of dodgeball experience. Three sets of footsteps ran up to you in a frantic pace. " Whoaaa, are you ok!? That almost hit you! " A female voice spoke. " Yeah, I'm good. That was actually a really strong throw. Impressive. " you say, standing. You examine the three teens.

    The first one was a thin boy, with pale skin and... White hair? You wouldn't ask. He was wearing a black and blue swim shirt, along with a matching pair of blue swim bottoms. 

    The second was a tan boy, wearing a pair of 'Cool Kid' stereotype shades. He had brown hair, and a worried look on his face. He was wearing a plain pair of red swim trunks.

    The third was a black teenager, with awesome hair might you add. She was the one who asked if you were alright. She was wearing a pair of denim shorts, with a orange and white striped one piece she wore visibly.

   " Thanks... I guess. " The Shaded boy spoke. " I'm Buck. Buck Dewey. " he introduced himself. " Jenny Pizza. " The girl spoke. She had a cool name. " Names Sour Cream. " Ok, you take it back. This boy had the coolest name. You hand the ball back to Buck. " You have a strong hand. All is forgiven. Just make sure to be more careful next time, okay? " You chuckle. He nods. " Thanks, Miss... " " [Name] " He nods. " Thanks, [Name]. " " Hope to see you around. You're pretty cool! " Sour Cream spoke. You waved to them as they ran off, back to play their game. 

     You stretch, popping your back into place. That was pretty fun, you met a few new people. They seemed like some pretty cool kids. You feel a tap on your arm, you turning around and locking eyes with a small, curly haired boy. 

"Hi! My name's Steven! "
