Part 14

Kalani POV
Waking up out of my sleep I roll over to see I had a blanket over me and August still running on FaceTime . "Wakey wakey " Natalie said as she sat in front of the mirror combing out her wet hair . Looking at the clock we hung up yesterday it was now 8:20 good I have sometime to get dressed . Sitting up I rub my eyes "nat did I have this blanket on my when you came back in ?" I asked .

" oh no I put it on you ,you was knocked when I came back " she laughing a bit while wrapping her hair in a towel . Like I said best roommate ever. "Thanks Nat " I say smiling and sitting up , "it was no biggie but um you may want to wake your friend up his class starts at 9:30 remember ? , I'll be back have to go do my makeup ." she replied laughing and walking out .

Looking over at August asleep I start to laugh . He has drool coming out of his mouth and he's snoring . "Best friend ." I said tapping the screen just to get no response "August .." I say laughing as he rubs his eyes a turn around to the other side . This is the normal process instead it's 8 o'clock instead of 3 in the evening . "August I know you hear me", " why do you get up so early damn " he said turning back to the camera .

Even after a few months you can tell August isn't the morning person . "Because we have class you ass " I replied taking my phone hopping down from my bunk "so we doing the name calling now ?" He says sitting up and rubbing his eyes ." You started it now get up someone's forget their class starts at 9:30 it's 8:23 " I say jumping down from my bunk grabbing my phone .

"So I have time " he replied laying back down. "Alsina what did I say ?" I said putting my things in my caddy " fine! Damn ma " He said sitting back up and rolling his eyes . Smart ass , one day he's going to roll them eyes so much they will get stuck in the back of his head . "Lose the attitude but I'm going to call you back once I'm on my way from class " I say picking up my caddy and towel .

August POV
"Mhmm" I reply picking up my phone looking at my self in the FaceTime camera . "Stop mhmming me " she said smiling and hanging up . Shaking my head I get out of bed making my way to the mini fridge grabbing some milk ."don't think about putting your mouth on it nigga " Chris says mumbling into his pillow. "Nigga that's your memo , August don't do that nasty shit . Plus didn't your class start 30 minutes ago ?" I say looking at the clock seeming it's now 8:38 . Waking up he looks around to find his phone "Shit man !" He says getting up from the bed walking out the room .

Shaking my head I laughing at him while grabbing a cup  pouring my milk . Putting the jug back in the fridge , I sit my cup on the dresser. Might as well get ready .

Kalani POV
"Alright see you later Nat !" I yell shutting our dorm door making my way down the hall . Plugging my head phones in turning it to ain't right by lil herb , I look at the time to see I have a few extra minutes left . I guess I'll go to Starbucks , walking into the elevator I press the first floor I lean back on the wall . Just as the doors were about to open I see someone running in . Turning around I see its Natalie's  brother . I have to admit he's pretty fine , but he has ex problems and I don't like dealing with that .

Looking up I see him mouthing words , taking out my headphones I say "could you repeat that?" . "I said you like lil herb ?" He says smiling and leaning against the other wall "surprised ?" I reply back smiling "lil bit , lil bit " he said chuckling "why so ?" I ask pausing the song sticking my phone inside my bag . "Just because , you know .. You don't look like the type ." He says shrugging while putting his hands inside his pockets . "Oh so you have to be a type to listen to music now ?" I ask raising my eyebrow . I mean I may be a girly girl sometimes but I still know when to trap when needed , if you get what I'm saying .

"No I was just - you know I was - I -" , "it's alright I was fooling with you." I say cutting him off from stuttering . Just as I began to laugh the elevator doors stopped on another floor and the same girl from yesterday Keana I think that was the hoe name , got on . "Morning " she said with a fake smile and she went over to Damon whispering something in his ear "c'mon now we've had this talk I don't want you no more bruh ." He said slightly shoving her back . At this point I had put my head phones back in tuning them out , I don't have time for her today not on my first day I don't .

The elevator doors opened again to reveal the food court and I rushed my way out just to feel someone pull my hand back then take out my headphones . " mind if I get your number ?" I see Damon smiling down at me , thinking for a bit I look around and see his hoe looking at me with steam coming out of her ears . " get it from Nat - and do me a favor never take my headphones out again while Travi$ Scott is playing ." I said before I smiled and made my way to the star bucks line .

August POV
"So wassup ?" Chris asks as I put my shoes on . "Man just cut to the chase what you want ?" I ask standing up brushing off my clothes . This nigga been on my ass since last night and I know why . " aight aight , so you and Kalani got a lil some some going on ?" He says smirking from the mirror . See what I mean I basically know this nigga like the back of my hand now . " we cooling .. You know ?" I say trying to give him the most neutral answer as possible . "Cooling ?" , "cooling bro " I said back grabbing my bag and wallet " so you wouldn't care if that girl Natalie brother was trying to push up on her ?" .

When he said that my heart dropped I don't know why but it did , like I just got some bad news . " man where you going with this ?" I asked standing with one hand on the door knob . " I'm just saying I know you like her ." , "me ? Like Kalani ? Nigga you have ta' be trippy now we friends and that's all it's gon' be " I say back starting to turn the door knob . "We will talk about this when you get back ." He says smiling . "I see nothing to talk about but sure , dad " I say rolling my eyes and walking out .

This is the second time sliding my way out of this conversation I don't think I can do it a third . I think I should just hide my feelings until I actually know what they are like I said a nigga ain't known to be weak and I'm not about to start .

(( I'm back !!! , and I'm here to stay . Sorry I have been waaaay late on updates but that's because I've been really busy . That changes today I will be updating every Friday - Sunday so through the week I will pre- write chapters . I have no school tomorrow so I probably will update tomorrow also until then I love you guys & that's Keana in the photo . 🙂 XO❤️ ))
