Girl Meet Gender Reveal

18 weeks pregnant

Today was the day of our gender reveal party. I am so excited to find out if Lucas and I are going to have a son or a daughter. I woke up bright and early to a beautiful Saturday morning sky to see Lucas still asleep next to me. He usually stays over if he's at my house the night before. I watched him as he sleeps. I know that sounds creepy but sometimes I just like to look at him and think about how lucky I am to have him.

"Maya I know you're staring at me." Lucas mumbled rolling over. I giggled. He's so cute.

"Okay well Riley and I have a ton of stuff to do so I gotta go." I said getting up and getting ready. I curled my hair and put on a green v-next with a black and white chevron maxi shirt and some black sandals. Lucas and I both decided we were going to wear green because we didnt car what the baby is as long as its healthy, but I know Lucas is secretly hoping for a boy and I'm hoping for a girl. I had asked everyone who was invited to wear pink or blue based on what they thought the gender of the baby is.

I kissed him goodbye and walked out of my apartment. I got into Rileys car and we drove to the bakery. Riley was wearing pink shirt and white jeans. While we were in the car we talked about baby things and school things. When I walked into the bakery I told the baker my name and he brought out 3 boxes. One box was filled with sugar cookies that are shaped like question marks that are frosted in either pink or blue. The second box was filled with pink and blue cupcakes with white buttercream frosting. The last box was filled with pink and blue covered cake pops that had 'Baby Friar' on them.

I smiled at all the desserts. They are so cute and I think they are perfect. Riley and I placed them in the car and we drove to the caterer. Once we arrived we picked up the chicken, salad and pasta I had ordered. We went back to the car and drove back to my apartment. When I walked in I saw that the apartment had been decorated with pink and blue streamers and blue and a ton of other pink and blue decorations.

"Suprise!" Lucas said walking up to me as I walked in door. He gave him a hug and kiss.

"Do you like it? You do so much and I figured I would help make this a happy day." He said.

"I love it. Its beautiful. Thank you." I said hugging him again.

"Okay well theres lots of boxes in the car and I think I'm carrying enough so can you get them?" I asked placing my hands on bump.

"But you're not carrying any-ohhh." Lucas realized that I was talking about the baby and he and Farkle, who must of helped Lucas decorate, went to my car and carried all the boxes. I set out all the food and placed the desserts on the counter. It is 2:30 and everyone was coming at 3 so all I had to do was wait.

It was now 3:30 and everyone had arrived. It was really cool to see the colors of pink and blue all throughout the apartment. My dad also wore green because he knows what the gender is.

Everyone ate there food and started to chow down on desserts. Lucas and I made our way to everyone and talked to them all individually. We were having a conversation with Zay when my dad carried a large box painted blue and pink with the words 'Pink or Blue?' painted on it.

"Alright people! Its time! Maya, Lucas." My dad called and I grabbed Lucas' hand and walked over to the center of the room behind the box. I snapped a picture of the box with my phone before we started.

"Okay so when you open the box either pink or blue balloons with fly out of the box and whatever color appears is the gender of the baby." My dad explained. I nodded.

"Alright on the count of three open the box." Dad instructed.

"1. 2. 3!" Everyone shouted.

Lucas and I pulled the top of the box open and pink balloons flew through the air. I looked over to Lucas and smiled as he pulled me into a passionate kiss. As we were kissing his hands found my bump. I could hear everyone wolf whistling as we kissed. I pulled away and looked to all my friends and family.

"Its A Girl!"
