AN: Ridephos! Yay! I had to read through it and was sad so...

-

Pairing: Ridgedog and Xephos - Ridgephos (Side of Parvill)

-

TW: Major Charcter death, blood, that kind of stuff. Kind of to be expected when you have a side of Parvill

---

I held onto Xephos' hand, watching as his eyes finally closed. Tears still trickled down my face, but they started drying. I kissed Xephos' lips one last time, before floating away. I visited his dwarf friend, who looked up at me sadden. "Is he..."

I couldn't speak, and so Honeydew ran forwards, hugging me in tears. I looked back at the room where Xephos lay sleeping, before breaking down again in Honeydew's arms.

"H... He's actually... Gone..."

-----

The funeral was somber, with whatever friends that still remain surrounding the area. Rythian, Martyn, Lomadia, Strife and Sjin had all said a few words, most of them meaningless. They had originally turned to me, but I couldn't speak.

It was when every left did I finally say something. "I'm sorry Xephos... I should of done something... This world won't be the same without you..."

I heard footsteps behind me, and spun around to see Strife and Parvis. They gave a small smile at me, and Strife sighed. "You did as much as possible, you shouldn't be taking it so hard on yourself Ridge."

"I should of done more." I replied and Strife shook his head. He put a hand on my shoulder, a soft smile on his face. He pulled away, walking back to Strife Solutions. Parvis lingers for a little bit, giving me a hug.

"I have an idea, but we can't tell Strife."

I blinked at him. Was Parvis suggesting a way to bring Xephos back? But, that can't be possible. Wouldn't I have figured it out before if there was? There have been so many people I have wanted to save over the year, but Parvis is suggesting he knows a way?

"Where do we meet?" I asked and Parvis nodded to the grave. I understood, here.

-----

I'm going to be honest, I almost didn't come. The idea that there was a way to save Xephos didn't seem right, in all my time. But Parvis had sounded so sure about it, and I couldn't help my curiosity.

I waited for Parvis to turn up, sitting in front of Xephos' grave. I ran my fingers through the dirt, remembering my times with Xephos. I'm not going to lie, I've fallen in love before, but none were like Xephos.

"Ridge!" Parvis exclaimed, and I turned to see him jump to me. He sat down next to me with a small smile. "Okay. I have a plan. It requires your blood."

"It always requires blood when it comes to you." I replied, and Parvis gave a sheep-ish grin.

"Yes, but specifically your blood. I... If we can... Ah... Resume? No, that's the wrong word..." Parvis said and he continued talking as he tried to find words.

"I see." I replied, and grabbed a shovel. I dug out Xephos, bringing him up to us. "Now what?"

"Oh! Okay, so offer your arm over him." Parvis continued and he grabbed a knife. I pulled my arm over Xephos, waiting for this all to be over with Parvis apologizing about how he was trying to help.

Parvis cut along my arm, and I winced as the blood went into Xephos' mouth. Parvis grabbed a few sheets of paper before saying some sort of ritual.

I watched in silence. Nothing was happening, and Parvis seemed to panic. "Why didn't it work?"

I held back the remark that none of Parvis' things work, and instead I wrapped a bandage around my arm, just so Parvis wasn't concerned. It'll heal soon enough.

Parvis let out a sigh and he looked around to gather his paper, flicking through each sheet. "I don't understand... It should work."

"Parvis. Nothing you try w-"

Xephos started coughing and I jumped, looking down at him. My eyes widen, and one look at Parvis showed he was surprised too.

"Oh! I see now. They needed to find his soul, that makes sense." Parvis said, and I watched Xephos' eyes slowly open. They glowed up at me, and I ran a hand on his cheek. "He's back!"

"That was idiotic, you hadn't done your research, and if it weren't for the fact I had done that before I would of stopped you earlier." Strife said, and he dragged Parvis back home. He paused before looking back at me. "Take care of my cousin, will you?"

I watched as Strife and Parvis left before turning my full attention to the alien in front of me, who was still figuring out how to use words. "R... Ri... Ridge?"

"Xephos." I replied, and I kissed his forehead. "I'm glad your back. Not so sure I could live a world without you."

He ran a hand across my cheek, before pulling me in a kiss. "I feel a little bit different from before, is that because it's recently?"

"I... I think that maybe... Maybe you're immortal. You have my blood." I replied and I laid into his neck. "I think that means I won't ever have to live a world without you."
