Chapter 64: I'm Not Here

Suguru rolls his eyes. "I am feeling good. Actually great. Now go take a shower and stop being weird."

"Alright. You wanna...join me..." I tap his foot with mine.

"Not this time. I actually just want to finish this book with my NOW lukewarm tea." He picks his legs up and tucks them under him while leaning back into the recliner.

"You can still read. I just need your lower half..."

"GO before I murder you."

-10a.m.-

"Hey let's go! I wanna beat the noon rush!" Shoko hollers up the stairs at the girls who want to tag along with her and Ijichi.

"You're not coming?" Ijichi grabs the SUV keys from Nanami.

"Nah I need to go check out some lumber for my own cabin. Since Haibara stole mine." Nanami throws a crumbled up piece of paper at Haibara who is sitting on the couch with Kanao.

Haibara has been slowly getting back to himself although he hasn't spoken a word. For how angry I was with him to now...I would do anything to hear his laugh.

I block Nanami's paper and click my tongue at him. "Do you not see this innocent bystander!?"

I sit next to Haibara and hold out my hands which Kanao lunges for. Haibara throws his hands up at Nanami with a smile.

"Can you say Uncle Gojo?" I tickle her tummy.

"Dadadadada!" She babbles and whips her head back around.

"Fine. I'll just go pet my own baby." I let her crawl back to Haibara who eagerly accepts her in his arms.

I get up and move to the other couch with a large smile for Sera and Suguru who sits next to her, his hand on her round tummy.

"Petting zoo is closed." She glares at me with a grin.

"Is she awake?" I plop down next to her.

"She is actually." Suguru smiles and rubs his fingers gently on the spot she's kicking before taking his hand off.

Sera massages her bump firmly on the right side. "Here."

Her hand gathers mine and places my palm flat on her shirt. I close my eyes as I feel the soft movement underneath my fingers. I smile wide and laugh softly mesmerized by my baby.

"You make that face every single time." Sera laughs and sits back against the couch.

"Because it's like the first time every time. Absolutely amazing." I bring my other hand up and hold more firmly taking in the kicks.

POV Geto

Satoru's face couldn't be any happier than when he's feeling his baby kick.

Sera had her 18 week appointment 2 weeks ago. Shoko had found an office that didn't bat an eye on her paying in cash. I had actually gone with while Satoru stayed back. His white hair and blue eyes are too noticeable for him to be in such busy places.

It made me regret not going the other times especially when I could have been with Satoru. I got to hear the heartbeat and the nurse had given us the gender in a sealed envelope. We plan on opening it or letting the twins do something dorky to reveal it on the 20 week mark.

"Oh is HE kicking?" Nobara walks over and kneels in front of Sera placing her hand next to Satoru's.

"Yeah right...here. Also, it's going to be a girl." Satoru moves her hand over the spot he felt her last.

"My bet is on a boy...wow! What a kick!" Nobara smiles up at Sera.

"My turn!" Maki taps Nobara's head.
