Summoning (VII): The Black Knight

Start from the beginning

Lancelot: ...?

Then, he reached out to it. The dark gauntlet soon pressed against the center of the shield, slowly shifting along the markings present there, the knight going quiet as he did.

He then sucked in another breath, his head whipping to Mash again.

Lancelot: GAAAAAAAAAAAAA?!

Mash remained tense, not knowing what he was even asking. She just gave him a stern, but still very much confused stare.

This seemed to be the key to pacifying the knight, as Lancelot's hands steadily dropped to his sides. Nobody could tell what kind of face he was making or what he was thinking behind that helmet.

Well, not with the naked eye. (Y/N), on the other hand, just glanced at him, then at Mash. Specifically, her shield.

(Y/N): Well, that's one less mystery down.

He'd need to consult Saber Alter about it to confirm his theory, though.

...Speaking of which, maybe it was for the best that this Lancelot stayed away from Salter, or else the Madness Enhancement would work its magic.

He had seen firsthand what that was like. Berserker indeed.

(Y/N): Anyway! I've noticed that tensions are high, so I propose that we all come to an understanding using a language that everyone can understand.

Time for good ol' violence to save the day!

Though the incident with Lancelot upon his arrival was brief, it still left a feeling of unease hanging in the air. Romani had been beside himself with worry for Mash when he found out.

Romani: [Alright, I'm going to be spawning some enemies for you to practice your coordination. It should be a good way to burn off some energy, right?]

(Y/N) would rather show Lancelot the power of Love and Friendship through percussive therapy, but there was the chance that Mash would only be more aggravated, so he agreed to it with some reluctance.

(Y/N): Oh, well. I guess hunting some game works, too. Mashmallow, ready?

Mash: Yes, Senpai!

As for Lancelot, he didn't look back at his Master, instead letting out another warped exhale. (Y/N) mused that was about as good a confirmation as he would get.

Romani: [Okay, here goes!]

As they stood in a landscape that wasn't all too dissimilar to the forests in France, blue particles formed a few dozen meters away from them. The particles gathered together into distinct shapes.

Once they coalesced, a flash of light briefly shone from them, and a set of werewolves and skeletal warriors formed, already starting to walk towards the trio.

(Y/N): You can take a few of them on your own, Mashmallow. As for you, Zerker-- aaaaaaand he's gone.

He watched with a bemused smile as the black knight threw himself forward right into the fray.

Mash: Wha- Lancelot, wait!

(Y/N): Nah, just let him cook for a bit. It should be a good way to let off some steam.

For his part, Lancelot quickly shattered one of the skeletal warriors into pieces while grabbing its weapon. The massive club changed into a pure black coloration in his hands as he went to work.
