Calum - Therapy

Maxine,

You told me today, that in your mind there are 5 levels or stages if you will; of despair.

1. The numb feeling - the feeling of nothing but emptiness, you're trapped in an endless void.

2. Confusion - when you're not sure of anything anymore, you're in a big mess and you're struggling to unravel it.

3. Anger - when the numb feeling mixed with an overwhelming amount of confusion becomes to much, resulting in a bitter attitude towards everything. Having a cynical outlook on everything almost.

4. The break - you said every person has their personal limits and that everything one day can become too much for a person. Everyone undoubtedly reaches their limit and eventually snaps and an inevitable breakdown occurs.

5. Resolve - when a person realises they have an issue and take it upon themselves to pick themselves up and fix it.

When you finished explaining these to me, I got the feeling you were trying to tell me something? But I'm not sure.

Then the session ended and you just told me to think about what we'd spoke about today. I'm thinking Maxine, I just don't understand why?

Calum.
