“I’ve been with him for nearly a century. I know what makes him tick. I also know how to make him forgive you or at least I know how to convince him to hear you out. None of which will be possible if you kill me.” She said matter of factly as she eyed his still form that stood within a mere inch of her.
Raising his hands in front of him in a mocking placating gesture Klaus took a few steps back, his gaze curious and sharp even as a smirk graced his lips.
“And how exactly, would you have me win back my sons favor?” Klaus questioned, tone strong and commanding despite the seemingly relaxed and playful way in which he seemed to hold himself in that moment.
Sucking in a deep breath, Liberty allowed her eyes to scan their surroundings before forcing his gaze back to Klaus. “Simple, all you need to do is bring me to him and trust me when I say I can get Damon to listen to you. Forgiving you is another matter entirely. If you truly care for him though…” Liberty trailed off as the thought of not being one of the few individuals in Damon’s corner caused her throat to tighten as tears welled in her eyes.
Swallowing thickly, Liberty blinked back the tears before forcing herself to pick up her broken thought, “If you truly care for him though, I will do everything within my power, give everything I have to make sure he does.”
Klaus’s head tilted as he seemed to process the words she had spoken, like the concept of someone actually stepping forward to help gain Damon’s forgiveness was such a foreign concept.
Which if the stories she had heard about the Original family were to be believed, might not be that far off. “Why,” Klaus crooned, his voice like velvet, “would you possibly agree to help me get my son to speak with me? I was under the impression that all witches in existence despised or feared me upon initially meeting. Yet, here you stand ready to vouch for me as if we have known each other for millenniums.”
A laugh burst from her lips, the sound ringing through the quiet forest like bells.
Angrily, Liberty spit out the words that held a great truth when she was speaking about her friend. “HE DOESN’T HAVE ANYONE ASSHOLE!!! You ask the reason I’d be willing to mediate a meeting between you two. Its because he has very few individuals regardless of supernatural or human race who would stand by his side come life or death. So excuse me if I’d hoped the man who claimed him as a son would choose to stand with him. My mistake.” she bit out angrily, turning to make her way out of the forest.
Liberty swore to herself, she would just find her best friend another way. No matter how long it took she would hunt him down and guard him just as she was tasked to do all those years ago when she was first assigned to be his guard.
She slammed to a halt as she felt a strong, calloused hand grasp tightly at her forearm. Without turning around, Liberty knew Klaus had followed her and she could only hope he would kill her quickly.
‘Sorry Damon.’ Liberty thought mournfully of the friend and assignment she had failed to protect.
Shock flooded her though as instead of killing her, Klaus took her completely by surprise and uttered the words she had never thought she would possibly hear from him.
“I’ll take you to him.”

“So just who exactly are we retrieving?” Kol asked, his feet slamming down against the hard concrete as they strolled down the block. Elijah rolled his eyes as he scanned the town square in front of him.
Luka Martin, last he heard, was still alive and while he was not completely sure of his warlock's whereabouts, he had a suspicion. With his father dead and his sister, most likely killed at the hands of the younger Salvatore brother, the boy would not have many options.
