"Yeonjunie hyung?.."
Yeonjun quickly shoved his diary back into his backpack while Beomgyu's eyes slowly fluttered open.
"Yes, it's me."
The younger slowly sat up from the bed while rubbing his eyes, looking slightly confused.
"What time is it?.."
Yeonjun stared at the clock at the corner of the room, it was later than he thought, 11 at night.
"It's pretty late, do you want to go home?"
Despite not knowing what was going on since he has a massive headache from all the alcohol he drank, the younger still nodded reluctantly.
Yeonjun held his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze before getting out of bed. He kneeled in front of the younger, offering to carry him home since he didn't have a lot of energy left.
After a couple minutes, the younger slowly climbed onto his shoulders, he was heavier than he thought. Due to the sudden weight, Yeonjun slightly flinched which caused the younger to worry.
"Am I too heavy?"
"No! Of course not!"
He smoothly lifted the younger up on his shoulders before heading out the door, eyes were stuck on them as soon as they came out.
"Oh my gosh! Were they alone in there?"
"A new power couple?!"
"We should ask Lia, she's the one in charge of all the juicy gossip!"
Despite all the heart eyes and sweet coos, they got out of the house at last-all the music and whispering replaced by a gentle breeze filled with comforting bird chirping.
Feeling the sudden shift in the environment, Yeonjun finally felt at ease. He walked step by step on the dark pavement with shining street lamps that slowly guided his way through- lighting up every new path that met his sight.
It was a new feeling. He hasn't felt like this before, it felt like his whole life had been one big lie. The street lamps slightly flickered on every step, Beomgyu's steady breathing was comforting to his ears- was this what his dreams felt like? Comforting? Relaxing? Like everything was fine?
If so, he didn't want it to end.
If this was what his dream felt like..
He didn't want it to end.
"Hyung?"
Hearing the little one's voice was comforting, it was deep and relaxing. It was the type of voice he'd beg to listen to every day. The type of voice he could play on repeat for hours. The type of voice that makes him feel at ease again.
A hum.
"Yuna means a lot to you.. right?"
That was the last thing the older expected to hear. Did he just ask about how he feels about Yuna? His ex-girlfriend?
"Why'd you ask?"
Beomgyu gently rested his head on the older's shoulders, it felt safe. How strongly Yeonjun's arms grips onto him to ensure he doesn't fall, the way he's talking to him, the gentle way he holds his small hands. It felt safe. Like he was in his safe zone.
"No reason. Just curious."
The older felt relieved that he was just curious and didn't mean anything else. But a small part of him still can't help but wonder, was he really just curious? Was he really just curious about his relationship with Yuna? Did he really mean nothing else?
"Where's your house at, Beomie?"
The younger nuzzles his head into the older's neck, obviously in deep slumber. Yeonjun could feel the little one's steady breathing on his neck, it tickled. He's someone who's really sensitive to touch, but why didn't he push him away? Why did he let Beomgyu stay in that position for so long? Why did his heart stop every time he feels Beomgyu's breath on his neck? It was a question he couldn't even answer himself.
