I open my car door and enter, powering the engine I reverse out. This is the first time we've ever left the house with one another and the first time she's been in a car with me. Her addictive scent fills the car and I cannot be blessed any more. I take a deep breath in, my hands shake slightly as we drive down our steep roadway.

I take a small glance at her when turning. Her hands are in her lap, fiddling with her rings. She doesn't seem quite on edge like how I am but I can tell this is an unusual situation for her as well. It's the first time she's been let out in weeks. I never restricted her from exploring the island because I already had the comfort of knowing that she could never eradicate herself from here, anywhere she'll hide I'll find her. It was a reassuring thought that kept me at ease when away on business.

I park the car not too far from our destination. I had this road built specifically for this reason and the deck that a few stands in front of us. Small forests of trees stand on each side of the road and run along the whole island. I turn off the engine and exit the car, going over to her side, I open the door taking her hand in mine. Her docile behaviour this evening is something I'm having trouble getting a hang of.

Is she complying or will there be consequences for my gullibility? Nonetheless, I should take what I have and be glad for it.

We both haven't spoken a word to each other and I'm beginning to think it's a key sign of affection between us. Comfortable silence is something we do often, neither of us saying a word and letting our body language do the talking. I walk us over to the deck where my yacht, which is rarely ever used lays. It took a few phone calls to make what I had envisioned happen in such a short amount of time but still, I succeeded after I called Alasadair and let him laugh his ear off at me as to how I managed to let her slip past my grasp and introduce herself to our brothers. He chuckled immensely at my carelessness before agreeing to help, charmed at best.

I still haven't spoken to the others and don't intend to just yet, I know they have their questions which I will answer in all due time, seeing I have no choice thanks to the gorgeous entity whose palm rests on mine.

" Where are we going " she says quietly, breaking our bonding silence.

" I told you that I cannot promise to take you into the real world just yet "

" Yes ? " she says

" But I am a man of my word and I did promise you a change of scenery and that's what we're doing "

We walk alongside the carbon grey decks and come to a halt once we've reached the yacht. Its lights are already on which means everything has been prepared and I may need to owe Alasadair for as long as I shall live. I told him to leave the cooking to me even though he demanded I have a private chef on board, I told him there was no need as we don't need to add excessive blood on our hands. Anybody who enters this island who happens to not be family will not exit alive nor at least get back to how they were. You cannot trust anyone in the underground- world which is why it's better to get rid of it before it becomes a problem.

I give her hand a little squeeze and turn to her, a small smile slips up on her face and I'm glad she's finding some amusement in this, it makes the long curated speech and mockery I got from Alasdair all worth it.

I lead her to the dock, my fingers wrapped around her wrists firm but unhurried as we begin to ascend down the dock.

My footsteps a dull thud against the wooden plank while hers sound lighter, almost as if she's shying away with each step. The soft glow of the deck lights illuminate our entrance casting long reflections on the rippling waves. The air smells of salt and teak, something clean and untouched.
