Pagkasara ng pinto, tahimik kaming dalawa ni Mikha. Napatingin kami sa isa't isa, tapos sabay na tumawa.
"That was... embarrassing," Mikha mumbled, still blushing.
Ngumiti ako at hinila siya pabalik sa akin. "I don't care."
At bago pa siya makasagot, hinalikan ko ulit siya-this time, mas matagal, mas malalim, at mas sigurado.
As soon as my lips pressed against hers again, I felt Mikha sigh into the kiss, her hands slowly gripping the front of my blazer. This time, there was no hesitation-no fear. Just the two of us, finally giving in.
I pulled her closer, one hand resting on the back of her neck, the other wrapping around her waist. She tasted like coffee and something sweet-something undeniably Mikha. My heart was racing, but for the first time in years, it wasn't because of uncertainty. It was because I knew exactly what I wanted.
Her.
Forever, if she'd let me.
When we finally pulled away, she rested her forehead against mine, her breathing uneven. "Aiah..." she whispered, her voice almost shaky.
I cupped her face, my thumb brushing against her cheek. "You said you'd fight for me," I murmured, staring into her eyes. "Then fight for me, Mikha. Because I swear, I won't let you lose."
She exhaled a soft laugh, but her eyes were filled with emotion. "You're so dramatic."
I smirked. "You love it."
She rolled her eyes but didn't deny it. Instead, she pulled me in for another kiss, softer this time, but just as deep.
Then-
Knock knock.
We both froze.
A second later, Sheena's voice came through the door, teasing as ever. "You guys done in there? Or should I give you more time?"
Mikha groaned, burying her face against my shoulder. I sighed. "Sheena, get the hell out."
"Fine, fine! But hurry up, boss lady. You have a meeting in ten."
When her footsteps faded, Mikha looked up at me, biting her lip. "Back to reality?"
I nodded, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "For now."
She smiled, and just like that, I knew-this time, we weren't letting go.
As soon as Mikha left my office, I exhaled deeply and leaned against my desk, trying to compose myself. My heart was still racing, my lips still tingling from the kiss we just shared.
Damn it, Mikha.
I ran a hand through my hair and straightened my blazer, making sure I looked presentable. I had a meeting in a few minutes, and the last thing I needed was for anyone to notice how completely wrecked I was after that moment.
Just as I was adjusting my collar, the door swung open without a knock.
"Tangina, Aiah, hindi ko in-expect na may ganap sa opisina mo!" Sheena exclaimed, crossing her arms with a shit-eating grin on her face.
I shot her a glare. "Do you ever knock?"
She shrugged, stepping inside like she owned the place. "Hindi na kailangan. Alam ko namang may something fishy nangyayari dito, pero grabe ka, boss. Sa office talaga?"
