MIKHA'S POV
The bass pounded through the speakers, the energy of the club vibrating through my veins. Lasing na ba ako? Maybe. Pero wala akong pake. I threw my head back, laughing as I swayed to the beat, my body moving effortlessly with the rhythm.
"Let's go, Mikha!" someone cheered-probably Colet or Jho. Hindi ko na alam kung sino. All I knew was I was having fun. No complications, no stress. Just me, the music, and the moment.
I felt hands on my waist-one of my friends, maybe a stranger, but I didn't care. My body moved on instinct, grinding, twirling, losing myself in the heat of the dance floor.
"Shot! Shot! Shot!" Colet chanted, holding up a glass of tequila.
I grabbed it, downing it in one go, the burn spreading through my chest. "Tangina, ang init!"
Sheena laughed, throwing an arm around my shoulders. "You need it! Celebration 'to, girl!"
"Anong sine-celebrate natin?" I shouted over the music.
"Ikaw!" Sheena grinned. "New job! New beginning! And, of course..." She wiggled her brows. "Baka new love?"
I rolled my eyes, laughing. "Gaga! Wala akong time sa love!"
"Yeah, yeah," Colet smirked. "Pero kita namin kanina-may nag-text sa 'yo, tapos ngumiti ka."
I scoffed. "Guni-guni niyo lang 'yon!"
"Baka si Aiah?" Jho teased, sipping her drink.
At the mention of her name, something in my chest tightened-but I ignored it. Ngumisi ako, kunwari walang epekto. "Tapos na 'yon."
"Tapos na nga ba?" Gwen, the most quiet of us all, finally spoke, her eyes sharp as she watched me.
I held her gaze, refusing to flinch. "Oo naman."
No one challenged me after that. But even as I danced, even as I laughed and drowned myself in alcohol, I couldn't shake the feeling.
Tapos na nga ba talaga?
The music pulsed through my veins, drowning out every thought that threatened to creep in. I let my body move with the rhythm, my hands running through my hair as I swayed to the beat. Every step, every turn-it was freedom. No past, no regrets, just the electrifying energy of the club and the rush of being alive.
"Yes, Mikha! Ganyan nga!" Colet cheered, clapping her hands as she danced beside me.
Sheena laughed, raising her glass. "Para kay Mikha, na finally naglalabas ng sama ng loob sa dance floor!"
I rolled my eyes pero tumawa na rin, spinning in place before grabbing another shot from Jho's hand. "Tangina niyo!" I said, but my grin gave me away.
I lifted the shot glass to my lips, downing it in one go. The burn was instant, but so was the way it fueled my high. My head tilted back, my eyes shutting for a moment as I lost myself in the feeling.
May lumapit na babae, someone I didn't recognize, but she smiled at me, her hands finding their way to my waist. "You dance good," she purred.
I smirked, pulling her close as I leaned down. "I know."
She giggled, pressing her body against mine, moving in sync with me. For a moment, I let myself enjoy it-the distraction, the attention. But even as she ran her fingers down my arm, even as her lips brushed against my neck, I felt nothing.
