Chapter 7

Sahi fainted the second Mohini took a step towards them. Mohini was so stunt that her eyes looked like idli.

She came rushing to the fainted Sahi. And slapped her.

"Idiot, do you have any sense of where to sleep and where to not? Did you think of sleeping the moment you saw my face, you idiot?!"

Mohini was hitting combos after combos for the words, idiot and sleep.

Mohini had run out of sentences she could form with idiot in it. She stood up and straightened her back.

"She is not gonna get up any time soon. Wanna go for a tea?"

Mohini asked the boy, who was more confused than an ant going in circles. He asked what about Sahi.

Sahi was sleeping like a dead chicken in the middle of the road.

" Right, innocent people can't cross the road"

Mohini started brushing her hair.

"Let's lift her"

That was all the boy waited for; he scooped Sahi up and carried her like a baby. He is strong for sure. Mohini knew despite Sahi's feather-light appearance, she was heavy. It took two boys to lift Sahi off when she fell asleep on the school grounds.

This boy has potential, Mohini thought.

The awkward silence was getting awkwarder.

"Soo....hm...what's your name? I haven't seen you around before?"

Mohini layed the first stone for a small talk.

"Tab...ah.. it's Tapomay...Rishi.. Tapomay Rishi. Yes, that is my name."

"Oh, it doesn't sound Indian.."

Before she could finish Tab looked as if he was personally offended.

"IT IS A SANSKRIT NAME! It means FULL OF MORAL VALUES!"

He boomed.

"K."

They turned awkward again.

"But...you don't look... Indian.." Mohini whispered not wanting to offend him again.

Tab shifted perplexingly. Then he began,

"I am half Indian. My father is Indian and my mother is Chinese but I was brought up in the US "

*Hardware: made in China, Software: made in India, Branded: made in USA*

"Oh," Mohini said, though she didn't fully grasp the situation.

Mohini stopped in front of a house, turned back in the direction they came, and walked to the house they just crossed.
" We walked a bit.. further.. This is my house."

Tab stood there holding the baby..hm ... Sahi looked around the new neighborhood he was in. His eyes caught on the nameplate of Mohini's house, Vijaya ellam.

"Vijaya ellam.." he murmured.

"Oh, my mother's name is Vijaya"

He turned to see if the house he was standing next to had a nameplate as well; it did. Adarv Ellam. He stared at it. Quite familiar I would say.

"Mmm...that's Adarv's house. He is my next-door neighbor."
