"Are you feeling hungry? You should have something..."

He said with a very concerned voice. He always thought humans were prone to unfavorable circumstances. He didn't want his Sahi to fall victim to it too.

Sahi was brainstorming, ignoring her stomach's pleading cries. A pretty face distracted her humongous train of thought.

Woho! Soo handsome...

She snapped back and realized how close their faces were. Too close for her never-before active heart. She stumbled back. She was worse than a 1-year-old, could not get her footing correct, and fell. Sahi turned red with embarrassment.

He walked up to her in a hurry,

"Are you ok?"

He checked her hands, legs, and face. Cupping her face in his hand he smiled,

"All good. No damage."

DAMAGE!

That's when she realized she does this exact same thing when her tab falls. No damage, thank God. She slammed her hand on her forehead.

What a way to return the favor; now I have to teach him how to be human, too!

She moved away from his grip. He can't stay at her home. She couldn't feed him and had a nuisance of a brother at home.

Privacy was always a wish on her bucket list.

Sahi had to sneak him out. And then to where. She had friends in the neighborhood; Mohini, Adarv, and Sara all lived nearby. Wait, Adarv. He is perfect for the plan.

"We're sneaking out" she declared.

Sahi sang to herself I am sly as a fox and swift a squirrel, cunning as a monkey and a liar like trouble. She peeked from behind the door and tried to hear any sound of other living organisms. Sahi signaled the boy to follow her.

Down the stairs, right next to it was the front door. Sahi slipped past and out the door. It was the boy's turn to do the same.

He came to the last step and looked around. He saw the sandwich Amma made for snacks on the dining table across the stairs. He walked up to it. Amma, who was in the kitchen, had finished washing all the vessels and wiped her hands on the apron as she walked out.

He took the sandwich.

Amma was exiting the kitchen, taking deep breaths to call her daughter for snacks. Her voice should cross 90 decibels for her daughter to hear.

Outside, Sahi realized that he was not out yet. A drop of sweat formed on her forehead and panic in her eyes.

Amma might see him! She screams internally.

💕

Incident: Came up with a perfect plan but not so-perfect execution.
