Amma stopped halfway, she had forgotten to take off the apron. She went back to the kitchen to hang it.
Sahi, at that right moment, burst in and met with the sight of the boy holding the sandwich. Her heart thudded, and anger got to her head. She rushed to him, grabbed his wrist, and ran out.
She didn't stop until they covered a decent amount of distance.
"Sahi, are you all right?"
The question pushed Sahi the wrong way, she snapped the moment she caught her breath.
"No! I am not one bit fine! What do you think you were doing? Trying to get caught?"
He didn't say a word back and just offered her the sandwich looking pitiful.
"You looked hungry" He mumbled.
His down-turned puppy look poured guilt into her whole being. Buckets of it. She regretted even feeling angry at him. Poor boy. Sahi took the sandwich and gave him a gentle smile.
"Thank you," she said.
The boy's newly formed heart all of a sudden forgot it had to beat. It started running to catch up with the missed time. Or so he thought was the reason behind its odd pace.
He stared at her as she moved the sandwich to her lips.
Sahi even ate her food like a chicken, fast and furious. She looked up and their eyes met. He was looking at her so lovingly. She looked down at her sandwich, blushfully.
Do I look that beautiful while eating?
Nope. Sahi was definitely hallucinating. And that boy had some serious issues with his eye.
The whole moment was buried by other things when they left for Adarv's house. Neither of them will ever remember that this happened.
Their peaceful walk was made more masala-filled as they crossed paths with Mohini. Sahi froze.
Ok, let's turn back and run, Sahi thought for a second. But she can't avoid her forever and she knew that. As some Mahan said, communication is the key to success in a relationship. CoMUniCaTiON.
Amidst all this, Sahi forgot about a tiny detail that was now boiling in her house. She had run out without informing Amma. Trying to find the boy a house, she probably lost hers.
"Let her get home, how dare she?!"
Amma's voice sounded more dangerous than a serial killer.
💕
Incident: I would have finished maths homework faster than that sandwich today. Why the heck was it so slow?
