Chapter 16- In denial

Start from the beginning

I groaned, already regretting letting her in. "Jho-"

But she was already heading out of my office, completely ignoring me.

I hesitated for a second before following her. Ayokong lumabas, but at the same time, knowing Jho, she was going to get involved whether I liked it or not.

As soon as she stepped into the main office area, Jho's eyes landed on Mikha.

"Well, well, well," she teased, striding towards Mikha's desk. "Akala ko ba secretary ka na ni Aiah? Bakit parang stressed ka na agad, ha?"

Mikha looked up, her brows furrowing before her expression softened. "Jho?"

"Surprise!" Jhoanna grinned before casually leaning on Mikha's desk. "Miss me?"

Mikha snorted. "As if."

Jho feigned an offended gasp. "Wow. Ganyan ka na ngayon? Dati halos ayaw mo akong pakawalan kapag nagkikita tayo."

Mikha rolled her eyes but didn't stop the small smile that appeared on her lips. "Big-time lawyer ka na kasi. Baka ma-bill mo pa 'to."

Jho laughed before glancing at me over her shoulder, her teasing smirk still in place. "Okay, spill. Bakit parang may drama dito?"

Mikha stiffened, her eyes darting toward me for a brief second before she quickly looked away. "Wala."

Jho raised an eyebrow. "Uh-huh. So, you're saying I flew all the way here for nothing? Walang juicy updates?"

Mikha crossed her arms, sighing. "Wala akong sasabihin kung nandiyan si Aiah."

I felt my jaw clench at that. "Wow," I muttered, crossing my arms as well. "Ganyan na ba tayo?"

Jhoanna glanced between us, then sighed dramatically. "Damn, ang tigas talaga ng ulo niyong dalawa."

She then turned fully to Mikha. "Okay, since ayaw mo magsalita habang nandiyan siya..." She grabbed a chair and dramatically pulled it closer. "Ako na lang magkukuwento, at ikaw, Mikha, ang magre-react."

Mikha groaned. "Jho, seriously-"

Jho held up a finger. "Shh. Let me set the scene."

I exhaled sharply. "You're impossible."

Jho smirked. "And you love me for it."

Mikha, on the other hand, just buried her face in her hands, mumbling something under her breath.

I didn't know whether I wanted to laugh or strangle Jhoanna. Probably both.

Jhoanna clapped her hands together, looking way too excited for someone who just barged into an office full of tension.

"Okay, let's start," she said, turning to Mikha like she was conducting a courtroom cross-examination. "Last night-"

Mikha groaned. "Nope. Not happening."

Jho ignored her, smirking. "Last night, you went to a party. A wild one, by the looks of it. Correct?"

Mikha rolled her eyes but nodded reluctantly. "Correct."

Jho leaned in, her smirk widening. "And then, something interesting happened, didn't it?"

Mikha stiffened, eyes darting toward me before quickly looking away. "Not your business, Jho."
