A sharp pang shot through my chest.
What the hell is this girl trying to do?
I scoffed again, turning to Stacey, who was smirking at me like she had just won a bet.
"Oh my God, just say it," I snapped, annoyed.
Stacey laughed, throwing an arm around my shoulder. "You so still love her," she teased. "This is so much fun to watch."
I rolled my eyes and smacked her arm. "Putangina, tumigil ka nga. Ang kulit mo."
Stacey only laughed harder. "Fine, fine, hindi ka nagseselos," she mocked, making quotation marks with her fingers. "Pero bakit para kang maiiyak?"
I shot her a glare. "Hindi ako iyakin, Stacey."
"Sure, Jan," she teased again, nudging me. "So... anong plano? You gonna sit back and let your ex get stolen by Miss 'I've-Known-You-For-One-Day-But-I'm-Clingy-As-Hell'?"
I let out a breath, watching as Zara leaned in closer to Aiah, whispering something in her ear.
And that was it.
Nope. No way.
I turned on my heel and started walking toward them before I could even think twice.
If Zara wanted a game, I'd show her exactly who she was playing with.
I sauntered toward them, my heels clicking against the pavement, my heart hammering wildly in my chest. Zara was still standing too close-way too close-to Aiah, her fingers lingering on Aiah's forearm like she had any right to be that familiar.
Aiah wasn't pulling away. She wasn't even looking at me.
Oh, hell no.
"Baby."
Aiah's head snapped up immediately. Her eyes locked onto mine, sharp and questioning, but I only smirked and tilted my head. Zara, on the other hand, merely raised an amused brow, her smirk deepening as she looked between the two of us.
She's enjoying this. Of course, she is.
With casual steps, I closed the distance between us and slid my arm around Aiah's, completely ignoring the look she was giving me. "Bakit 'di mo naman sinabi na may lakad pala tayo with... her?" I asked sweetly, my voice laced with something dangerously close to a challenge.
Zara chuckled under her breath. "Oh, this is good."
Aiah sighed, her voice laced with exasperation. "Mikha-"
I cut her off, turning to Zara with a smirk. "Narinig ko magaling ka raw sa race?"
Zara's lips curled as she crossed her arms. "Depends on who you ask." She looked me up and down, like she was assessing me. "And you? You any good?"
I smirked, leaning in slightly. "Mas magaling pa sa'yo," I said smoothly, letting my words sink in. "Baka gusto mong subukan?"
Zara's eyes darkened with challenge, the amusement never leaving her lips. "So, you wanna race, huh?" She looked over at Aiah, then back at me. "Or do you want Aiah to race in your place?"
Aiah let out another sigh, rubbing her temple like she already regretted bringing me. "Zara-"
Zara smirked, ignoring her. "What's it gonna be, boss?" She teased, eyes flicking between the two of us. "You wanna go against me? Or do you trust your little baby here to handle it for you?"
