Her smirk didn't waver, but something darker flickered in her eyes. "I want you to come back to me."
My breath hitched.
"Gusto kong bumalik ka sa'kin, Mikha." She took another step, her fingers brushing against my wrist again-barely a touch, but enough to make me tense.
I clenched my jaw. "And then what?"
She tilted her head slightly, her voice dropping into something almost cruel. "I want you to fall for me again."
My stomach twisted.
Aiah leaned in, so close I could feel her breath against my skin. "So I can break you the way you broke me."
I flinched.
"You deserve that, don't you?" she murmured, her tone almost sweet, like she was asking me if I wanted sugar in my coffee.
I swallowed hard, my throat suddenly dry.
"Watch me play the game you started," she continued, her fingers grazing my jaw now, a mockery of the way she used to touch me before-when things were real. "And I will make sure that in the end..."
She smiled, slow and deadly.
"Ikaw ang iiyak."
A sharp breath left my lips, and I forced myself to step back-out of her reach, out of whatever trap she was trying to pull me into.
But the damage was done.
I could still feel her touch on my skin.
Still hear her voice in my head.
Still feel the weight of her words-like a promise, like a warning.
And the worst part?
I didn't know if I wanted to run-
Or if I wanted to stay and let her ruin me.
My breath was uneven as I took a step forward, my body moving before my mind could catch up.
But before I could close the distance between us, Aiah raised a hand-stopping me in my tracks.
Her smirk deepened, eyes filled with something both dangerous and intoxicating.
"One step closer to me, Mikha..." Her voice was slow, deliberate, teasing. "And I will kiss you."
I swallowed, my heart slamming against my ribs.
"I will kiss you so hard you'll forget why you ever left."
She took a step toward me instead, her gaze locked onto mine like she could see right through me.
"And I'll make sure you moan my name on my bed."
A shiver ran down my spine.
Damn her.
Damn her for saying things like that-like she knew I would break if she pushed just a little harder.
I clenched my fists, forcing myself to stay still. "You think you still have that power over me?" I tried to sound unaffected, but the way my voice wavered at the end ruined the illusion.
Aiah chuckled, low and full of amusement. "I don't think, Mikha."
She leaned in just enough that our lips were almost touching-so close I could feel her warmth, smell the faint trace of her perfume.
