I think that's the end of it. That she'll finally leave me alone.
But then she smirks again, her eyes twinkling with something dangerously close to amusement.
"Oh, by the way," she says, standing up and straightening her blazer. "HR just sent me the final list of applicants for your new secretary."
I rub my temples. "And I should care because...?"
"Because, my dear Aiah," she drawls, walking toward the door, "you might find one of the names very... familiar."
My brows furrow. "Stacey-"
But before I can ask, she throws me a wink and steps out, leaving only her words hanging in the air.
A name I might find familiar?
I shake my head and return my focus to my laptop.
Whatever it is, I don't have time for distractions.
At least, that's what I tell myself
For now.
I barely have a moment to process Stacey's cryptic words before my office door bursts open-without a knock, without warning.
"AIAH! Tara, kain tayo!"
I pinch the bridge of my nose. Of course.
Only one person enters my office with this much energy-Sheena Villarama.
She's grinning like she just won the lottery, her oversized hoodie slightly slipping off her shoulder. A ball of energy wrapped in chaos, Sheena moves like she's on a constant sugar high, completely immune to the tension of the corporate world.
"Sheena," I say, exasperated. "Do you ever consider knocking?"
She plops down on the couch in front of my desk, throwing her legs over the armrest. "Nope."
I sigh, closing my laptop for the second time today. "If you're here to waste my time-"
"Excuse me, Aiah Navarro, but eating is NOT a waste of time." She swings her legs down, sitting up excitedly. "May nakita akong bagong food spot malapit sa Ateneo! Sabi nila, legit na hidden gem daw."
I stare at her blankly. "And why exactly would I be interested?"
She gasps, clutching her chest like I just insulted her entire family. "Grabe ka! Aiah, I know you're a cold-hearted CEO, pero hindi ka pwedeng ganyan ka-uninterested sa food!"
"Sheena, I have work."
"Work, work, work. Ayan ka na naman. Baka pag namatay ka, ang cause of death mo eh 'overwork'."
I roll my eyes. "Dramatic."
She grins. "Pero totoo."
I sigh, leaning back in my chair. "What kind of food?"
Sheena's face lights up like a child who just got permission to buy all the candy in a store. "Korean barbecue! May hidden restaurant dun sa may Katipunan, super sulit daw. And get this-UNLI WAGYU."
I arch a brow. "Unli Wagyu? That sounds suspicious."
She shrugs. "G na, para matikman natin kung scam 'to o hindi!"
"I have meetings-"
"Reschedule."
"Sheena-"
