At this point, Summer glanced over to the two kids, both pointing fingers, both sounding off accusations, and she knew this had gone far enough. She took a deep breath, her patience worn thin after days of non-stop pranking and bickering.

"Ethan, that's enough," Summer said firmly, pausing in her task to make sure she had their full attention. "This is the last prank. Do you understand me? No more pranking for the rest of the day. We're supposed to be cleaning and helping, not playing tricks on each other."

Luna, still fuming, folded her arms and gave Ethan a stern look. "I told you this was going to happen!"

Ethan tried to protest, his little face dropping with an expression of mock innocence. "But Mom, it was just a funny sound. It's not like I hurt her!"

Summer sighed, her brows furrowing slightly in frustration. "You didn't hurt her, but it's disrupting, and I'm done with this for now." She crouched down to look him in the eyes, softening her tone but remaining firm. "We're a team. I want us all to get along and finish what we started, okay?"

Ethan pouted for a moment, looking over at Luna, who was still crossing her arms, clearly irritated.

"Now, everyone take a break from the pranks and finish up with your chores," Summer added, her voice more lighthearted but still authoritative. "Luna, Ethan, both of you can help me put away the dishes or clean the floor."

Jason, hearing the tone in Summer's voice, stepped in to back her up. "She's right, you two," he said, walking over to the kids. "You've had enough pranking today. Let's work together, and I promise we'll make time for something fun later. No pranks in the meantime, alright?"

Reluctantly, both kids agreed, though Ethan couldn't help but throw a sly glance at Luna, which made her giggle despite herself.

Summer picked up the vacuum, feeling a slight relief wash over her as the room's chaos quieted down. She was determined to keep the energy productive—today, at least.

"Alright then, let's finish up," Summer said, as she turned on the vacuum cleaner. "We'll finish cleaning, and if you're lucky, we'll plan a special treat for everyone—just no more tricks!"

The siblings seemed to accept this, though both of them were undoubtedly scheming for the next opportunity to pull one over on each other. Summer knew it wouldn't be the last prank war, but for today, at least, the ban on pranking would stand.

The room settled into a quiet hum of cleaning sounds, and though the tension was still there from the earlier prank, Summer felt good knowing the kids were working together, at least for now.

Next morning:

The morning after Luna's exciting 5th birthday was filled with the typical sounds of the household getting ready for the day. Summer had already started preparing breakfast for everyone, while Jason was taking care of some last-minute chores. Luna, still riding high from the fun birthday celebrations the day before, decided she was going to start the morning with a bath. She loved how the warm water made her feel, and today felt like the perfect day for a long soak.

However, unbeknownst to Summer or Jason, little Ethan, always a bundle of mischief, had other plans. He thought it would be hilarious to prank Luna one more time before she could even get to her bath. As she went upstairs, he snuck into the bathroom, where he could hear the sounds of the water running, and grabbed one of the bottles of body wash, secretly switching it out with an unusually sticky substance from a prank kit he had stashed away for just such an occasion.

He couldn't wait to see Luna's face when she poured it into the water. But instead of his sister stepping in, it was Jason.

Jason, who had come downstairs to grab his clothes for the day, was expecting a quick shower to start his morning. He didn't think to check the bottle, simply lathering up with what he thought was his usual body wash.
