Jason smirked as he stepped out of the car. "What happened to 'homecoming queen vibes all night long'?"

Summer rolled her eyes playfully. "I can't vibe if I can't breathe, Jason." She motioned toward the snug fit of her dress before disappearing behind the car to change.

A few minutes later, she emerged, looking effortlessly comfortable and radiant in her relaxed outfit, her hair still styled from the game's festivities. Jason leaned against the car, giving her a once-over with a grin. "Not gonna lie, princess, you can rock a crown and sweats at the same time. New talent unlocked."

She gave him a playful shove. "Whatever, Mr. Compliments. Let's go inside before they finish all the snacks."

They walked up to Ella's door together, the muffled sound of music and laughter spilling out into the night. Summer adjusted her sweater as she stepped inside, immediately greeted by the warmth of the house and the sight of her friends lounging around in various states of post-homecoming relaxation.

"Look at you, comfy queen," Mya teased, tossing a throw pillow in Summer's direction.

"Comfy and ready for snacks," Summer retorted, catching the pillow and settling into a spot on the couch. Jason followed, claiming the seat next to her as the group started diving into the next round of homecoming stories and laughs.

Jason stood up from the couch, holding his beer aloft with a broad smile on his face. The room quieted slightly as everyone turned their attention to him. "Alright, listen up," he began, his voice full of energy and gratitude.

"First off, cheers to this homecoming week! From the crazy pep rallies to the spirit days, to tonight's win—" he paused as the room erupted into cheers and applause. "—we made it unforgettable."

He glanced over at Summer, who was curled up comfortably on the couch, her smile encouraging him to continue. "Second, cheers to the game. You all showed up big for us out there, and that energy kept us going. So, Fighting Owls for life!"

The group clinked their drinks together, shouting, "Fighting Owls!" in unison.

"And finally," Jason added, his tone softening just slightly, "cheers to the birthday you guys gave me. Honestly, I don't know how I got so lucky with friends like you." His eyes scanned the room, briefly locking with each of his closest friends. "Y'all made it one of the best ones yet."

He raised his beer a little higher. "So here's to homecoming, the game, my birthday, and this!" He tapped the side of his beer with a grin. "Because we've earned it!"

Everyone erupted into a final round of laughter and cheers, clinking bottles and cups together. Summer beamed at Jason, her heart swelling with pride as she joined the toast. The room buzzed with warmth and joy, the kind of night none of them would forget anytime soon.

The room was filled with laughter and lighthearted banter as the group relaxed, enjoying their beers and mixed drinks. The sound of clinking bottles and the occasional shout of excitement from a game of cards being played in the corner added to the lively atmosphere.

Summer, the newly crowned homecoming queen, was comfortably perched on Jason's lap. Her arm draped casually over his shoulder, her fingers absentmindedly toying with the edge of his hoodie. Jason, ever the doting boyfriend, rested his hand gently on her knee while sipping his drink, occasionally chiming in to the conversation or laughing at the jokes being passed around.

She leaned in closer to her girlfriends, who were seated on the couch beside her, animatedly discussing the highlights of the night. Ella was recounting a funny moment from halftime, Phoebe chimed in about the Bears' defense, and Mya teased Summer about her dramatic entrance onto the field during halftime court.
