Misty gasped and stood up as she saw how tired I looked as I stepped into the Pokemon Center. " Mia! What happened?!"
I opened my arms, and Red caught me in his arms and settled me in his lap
I leaned my head on his chest and closed my eyes. " Nothin. Mewtwo just drained most of my energy because I saw Giovanni and stuff. Pikachu defeated them, thankfully."
Brock, who had just walked over with a tray of drinks, nearly dropped them. “Wait, wait, wait—what did you just say?”
I hummed sleepily, barely processing their reactions. “Giovanni was up to his usual bad guy stuff… Mewtwo wasn’t happy… psychic stuff happened… I almost passed out… but Pikachu saved the day.”
Misty gaped at me, then at Red, who was holding me securely in his lap like this was just another Tuesday.
“You almost passed out?! And you’re acting like that’s no big deal?!” she shrieked.
Red, still silent, simply adjusted his grip on me and shot Misty a look that clearly said, Relax. She’s fine.
Misty threw her hands up. “She is not fine! Look at her! She’s practically falling asleep mid-sentence!”
Brock sighed and placed the tray down. “Misty, let her rest. If she pushed herself too hard, getting worked up now won’t help.”
Misty grumbled under her breath but crossed her arms. “Fine. But after she gets some rest, I demand a full explanation.”
I yawned. “Mm’kay… but only if you give me a free meal…”
Brock chuckled. “Deal.”
Misty huffed but softened slightly. “You better not scare us like that again, Mia.”
I weakly lifted a hand and made a vague thumbs-up gesture before letting it drop. “No promises…”
Misty facepalmed. “Unbelievable.”

Misty's eyes widened. "Mewtwo?! Giovanni?! Mia, that’s not nothing!"
Brock walked over, concern in his expression. "You look like you’re about to pass out."
I hummed, snuggling deeper into Red’s jacket. "M’fine…"
Red didn’t say anything—because, you know, Red—but the way he tightened his grip around me told me he wasn’t convinced.
Pikachu hopped onto my lap, nuzzling against me. "Pika pi!"
I smiled weakly. "Yeah, yeah, I know, buddy. You were amazing out there."
Misty put her hands on her hips. "Mia, you just had a run-in with Mewtwo and Giovanni, and you didn’t think to, oh I don’t know, call us?!"
Brock crossed his arms. "You’re lucky Pikachu had your back."
"She’s always lucky," Blue’s voice drawled as he walked in, hands in his pockets. "Not because she’s smart—just because she’s got plot armor thicker than a Snorlax."
I groaned. "Blue, please—not now."
He smirked. "Alright, alright. But seriously, you look like you got run over by a Tauros herd."
Leaf walked in right behind him, shaking her head. "She needs to rest. Red, take her upstairs."
Red nodded, stood up, and effortlessly carried me toward the stairs.
"Wait—!" I yawned mid-sentence. "I was gonna get food first…"
Misty sighed. "I’ll bring you something later. Just rest for once."
I hummed in acknowledgment, already dozing off against Red’s shoulder.
As he carried me up, I heard Blue snicker. "Man, it must be nice having a big, strong, silent knight in shining armor to carry you everywhere, huh?"
Even half-asleep, I found the energy to lift my hand and flip him off.
