It was never supposed to be this way. You were just his doctor, nothing more, nothing less. But when you touched him like no one else, when you showed him the path to the light, there was nothing else for him to do but let it burn.
A suitless Vader...
The chilly air hit my face, causing me to shudder. The man continues to stand there, his hand still lifted in the air. "Who are you? I don't recognize you." He says, his tone letting up just slightly.
"I'm.. y/n. The new medic," I reply quietly. I was still unable to move, but I had managed to calm myself down slightly. Slowly, his hand lowered, and I found myself able to move again. Breathing in deeply, I let myself relax again as I regained control of my body.
"The new medic? And why are you wandering the halls past curfew?" He asks again, more calmly this time. He still had his face hidden, and I was starting to get curious about the man that was talking to me.
He must've been using the Force to keep me still. I thought that all of the Jedi were dead, the only Force users in the galaxy, slain by someone. I was never told who exactly killed all of them- the younglings included -not many knew the truth. Rumors had spread, but the truth had yet to come out.
"I didn't eat dinner, and I was starving. I'm so sorry," I mumbled weakly, folding my hands together nervously. This man was menacing, scary to look at as he simply stood there. It was as if the darkness was enveloping him, his aura dark and unnatural. His voice was deep, bitter and detached. I couldn't help but be nervous in his presence, especially if he was a Force user as I suspected.
"Everyone eats dinner at six. Why didn't you?" He asks simply. His arms cross over his chest, and that's when I receive my first glimpse of him. From what I could make out under the hood, he had a verysharp jawline and tan skin. A few scars littered the smooth skin of his chin and jaw, but that was all I was able to make out so far.
I cleared my throat, anxiety washing through me. "I was.. being shown around by lieutenant Piett and.. he said I couldn't get dinner until my tour was over." I explained, that being all I was able to say. The man paused at my words, before uncrossing his arms. "Piett?" He asks simply, tilting his head to the side.

The hood fell at his action, revealing his handsome face. The first thing I noticed was his piercing amber eyes that seemed to glow, glaring at me. He had a scar over his right eye, deep but the scar was old. His expression was slightly unreadable, looking a little disinterested. His golden locks flowed freely, framing his face perfectly. He looked beautiful, and that was the only way I could think to describe him.
After a few moments of the man seemingly contemplating my response, he sighs. "Go on, then. But go straight to your quarters afterwards. And don't let me catch you wandering the halls again, medic." He spits out, gesturing for me to go.
I stood in fear for a moment, before turning and resuming my way down the hall. The man has left me in shambles, his presence eliciting feelings of fear and anxiety. But the thought of eating something again quickly resurfaced, and I continued on.
"You're going the wrong way. The dining hall is back that way." The man calls out. I turn to look at him, only to see him pointing the complete other way. I could feel my face turn red as I quickly started walking the way he pointed.
"Right, thanks!" I called back, soon disappearing down the hall away from the man.
The rest of the night was rather plain. I had gotten my snack, much to my happiness and satisfaction. I went right back to my quarters, listening to what the man had said and getting into bed, ready for sleep.
I couldn't help but think of the man I had seen while I drifted off. His striking features, and yet, the way he seemed to be a Force user of the sorts. As I fell asleep, all I saw was him. In the morning, it would be my first day of work, where I would be a Death Star medic.
