The streets of Union City were bustling as always, with people moseying on the sidewalks to their day jobs, and cars driving down the road if they're not parked in front of traffic lights. The more impatient drivers laid into their steering wheels, blaring their horns.
Finally the light turned from red to green, signaling the cars to go. But once they drove over the crosswalk bridging the street from either side, they immediately slammed their brakes to avoid getting hit by the stolen armored truck racing by.
Dollar bills flittered through the air out the open double doors of the truck, where masked robbers fired their rifles at Jenny and Starfire who were soaring close behind. While most their bullets darted past them, those who hit them only ricocheted off harmlessly.
Jenny: Remember, these guys aren't as tough as us, so try not to hit them too hard.
Starfire: How hard would be too hard?
Jenny: Hit them enough to send them off the ground, but not enough to punch your fist through them.
One of the robbers fired his rifle until the spray of bullets stopped. Stepping back into the truck, he felt for another magazine on his person, but failed to find one.
Robber 1: Shit! I'm out!
Robber 2: The hell you want me to do about it!?
Robber 1: Give me a clip, dumbass!
The second robber stopped firing his gun and grabbed a magazine from his pocket. But when he reached it out to give it to the other robber, Jenny stretched out her arm and fired a small repulser blast from her palm, shooting it out his hand and letting it clatter on the road.
With a frustrated groan, the first robber threw his now useless rifle at the two women flying behind them and stepped back inside the vehicle.
Jenny: I'll draw their attention! You take out the tires!
Starfire glanced to Jenny and blinked a couple times.
Jenny: Th-the wheels, I mean.
Starfire: Oh!
Starfire sped ahead, getting around the truck.
The first robber stepped up to the front of the truck and faced the driver.
Robber 1: Can't you drive any faster?!
Driver: Faster than them?! Maybe, if you get out and pushed!
With another groan, the robber looked around the truck for anything that might help. Then he noticed the particular cannon the used to cut open the bank's vault resting on a pallet of money. Picking up the large weapon with both hands, he flipped off the safety, making it hum to life. Pointing the business end out the door, he readied himself to fire the cannon's beam at the robot girl.
But then, some invisible force suddenly yanked on the cannon, causing him to loose his balance before regaining his footing.
Robber 1: What the?
The robber tired to step back, but the cannon was pulled on again, nearly being torn out of his grasp.
Drive: What are you doing?!
Robber 1: The gun! It's like it's possessed or something!
???: Good guess!
Hearing a different voice, the robber shot his head up, only to receive an invisible punch to the face, knocking him into the wall behind him. The robber looked back up to see the cannon being suspended in the air. But then Danny appeared holding the cannon, which quickly froze in his grasp, and he then broke it over his knee. The robber sprung up to his feet and swung a haymaker at Danny's head. But Danny went intangible, letting him phase through him and hit the other wall.
