Thomas and Teresa afterwards went to the tent where Alby was and he had black veins along his chest showing that the change was already traveling through his body.

Newt took a look at the Syringe Teresa had with her and didn't have a good feeling about it.

"We don't even know what this stuff is or why it came up here with you for all we know it could kill him." Newt said.

"He's already dying, how could it make it any worse? We've gotta try." Thomas replied.

Newt realized there was no choice.

"Alright, do it." Newt said, stepping out of the way.

Thomas nodded and approached Alby with the syringe and went to stick it in his arm, when all of a sudden Alby shot up and grabbed Thomas by the shirt.

"You shouldn't be here! You shouldn't be here! NO!" Alby yelled.

After a bit of struggling, Teresa grabbed the syringe and stuck it in Alby's neck who became unconscious immediately.

"Alright, from now on someone stays here and watches him around the clock." Newt said, breathing heavily.

Everyone nodded before Gally walked in.

"Sundown Greenie, time to go." Gally said.

Thomas looked at him, followed him out of the hut and followed him to the pit.

"Hey, what's your problem with me?" Thomas asked.

"Everything started going wrong the minute you showed up. First the Bots, then Ben, then Alby and now the girl. And everybody saw she recognized you and I'm betting you know who she is." Gally replied.

Then they arrived at the pit and Thomas stepped in while Gally began locking it up.

"Gally, you know we can't stay here forever right? And those guys, they can help us." Thomas said.

"Things, they're not guys. They're aliens that could kill us in our sleep if they wanted to." Gally replied before walking off.

Thomas was left in the dark for a few minutes before he heard large footsteps and smaller footsteps walking towards him.

"Who's there?" Thomas asked.

Then Chuck walked over with a torch, with Bumblebee not far behind.

"It's just us." Chuck said and then he handed Thomas a cloth with food rolled up in it.

"You'll run better on a full stomach." Chuck said while Thomas began eating.

"Thanks Chuck." Thomas said and he noticed Chuck fiddling with something in his hands.

"What's that?" Thomas asked and Chuck handed a small wooden figure to him with a face painted on it.

"That came out nice, who's it for?" Thomas asked.

"It's for my parents." Chuck replied.

"You remember your parents?" Thomas asked and Chuck shook his head.

"I'm sure I have them and I'm sure wherever they are they miss me, but I can't miss them cause I don't remember them." Chuck said.

Chuck looked towards the closed doors of the Maze for a moment.

"What do you think you're gonna find out there tomorrow?" Chuck asked.

"I don't know, but if there's a way out Chuck. Me and Minho are gonna find it." Thomas replied.

Chuck then handed him the wooden figure, much to Thomas' confusion.

"Chuck, why would you give this to me?" Thomas asked.

"I can't remember them anyway, but maybe if you find a way out. You can give it to them for me." Chuck replied before getting up.

"Get some sleep." Chuck said, walking away.

But Thomas couldn't hold on to the figure.

"Hey Chuck, come here." Thomas said and Chuck walked back over.

"Hold out your hand." Thomas asked and Chuck complied and he dropped the wooden figure into his hand.

"I want you to give it to them yourself, we're gonna get out of here. All of us okay, I promise." Thomas said.

Chuck hesitated for a moment, but then he nodded.

"Okay." Chuck said.

He started to walk away before Bumblebee stopped him.

"Chuck, wait." Bumblebee said.

"What's up?" Chuck replied.

Bumblebee sat down and Chuck sat down on a nearby log while Thomas listened from the pit.

"When I was brought to life, my creators barely lasted more than a few days. They tried to protect me from the war, but it was too hard. One day they chased us down, while my carrier held me and my sire was shot behind us and killed without any mercy." Bumblebee said.

Chuck and Thomas looked at Bee in sorrow before he continued.

"My carrier took me into a building and hid me before a Decepticon named Barricade came in and knocked her down, crushing her spark slowly with his foot and laughing while he did it." Bumblebee said while looking down.

Thomas and Chuck looked horrified at this story.

"But then a few hours later, I was found by the one and only Optimus Prime. He was an amazing bot who took me and cared for me and stayed by my side every second during the war and felt like a second sire to me. And I know he's still out there, looking for me somewhere and I know I will see him again." Bumblebee said.

"Why are you telling me this?" Chuck asked in confusion.

Bumblebee turned his head towards Chuck.

"Because I wanted you to know, I understand and I want you to never lose hope. I want you to know, to keep going so you can find your creators again." Bumblebee replied.

"Okay I-I'll try, thank you." Chuck said.

Bumblebee nodded and Chuck walked off and Bumblebee turned towards Thomas while his optics lit up a small area around him.

"Just so you know Thomas, I haven't known you for long. But I see a Prime in you everyday." Bumblebee said before walking off towards the corner where Wheeljack was recharging.

Then Thomas fell asleep.

THE NEXT DAY

Thomas was woken up by Minho at the gate of the pit.

"Big day Greenie, sure you don't wanna sit this one out?" Minho asked jokingly.

Thomas smiled.

"Come on man, get me out of here." Thomas replied.

A few minutes later Thomas and Minho approached the stone doors just as they started to open, now both wearing leather holsters with the key in Minho's holster.

"Let's go." Minho said before running into the Maze.

Thomas took a deep breath before running into the Maze beside his fellow runner.
