A metal door was heard sliding shut blues turned on as an metal elevator slowly started to move up. A teenage boy suddenly shot up breathing in the cold and stale air feeling scared not knowing where he was or how he got there.
He noticed a noise coming from a nearby cage and crawled closer to it seeing a warthog squealing loudly which made him jump back in surprise and then the boy got up and stood on top of a box and started hitting the roof. "HEY HELP ME!" The boy yelled in fear as the elevator started to move faster and faster.
Just then as the elevator was about to hit the roof it suddenly stopped as the lights switched off and he was bathed in inky black darkness. Then sunlight spilled into the elevator as two doors suddenly opened above him and his eyes quickly adjusted to the bright light.
Then the two metal doors above him were slammed open and he heard a couple of voices. Then when his eyes fully adjusted he saw many figures standing above him and they started laughing and murmuring different words.
"Hey, go get him." One of the boy's said. Just then another boy with large eyebrows jumped down into the elevator and was in his face. "Day one Greenie, rise and shine." The Eyebrow kid said with a serious tone.
After saying that he grabbed him, pulled him out of the elevator and threw him down onto green grass as all of the other boys who all seemed to be teenagers by the look of it started saying different things and were laughing like the boy's presence was no big deal.
He could hear things like: "I could use some help in the kitchen." One boy said and another said: "He doesn't look like much." Another boy said and not being able to take all of the confusion of not knowing what's happening the boy stood up and pushed through the boys and took off.
"Hey we got a runner!" One boy yelled as the main boy started to run in a random direction not caring as long as he got away from the strangers but just as he was lost in his thoughts he tripped over his own foot and tumbled to the ground as many boys were surprised to see him fall like that.
Then the boy lifted his head up and got a look at his surroundings and saw walls that were taller than a city building and below him was grass greener than a sweater and there was no roof above him as he saw the regular blue sky above him just then footsteps were heard behind him.
An African American boy grabbed him by the shoulders and started to drag him towards one side of the stone walls which had some sort of hut made of sticks which seemed to be built into the ground.
He then opened the door on the hut which appeared to have nothing on the inside but dirt walls and a dirt floor as the boy was thrown in and the door was shut and locked behind him, then the boy sat in the dirt room for what seemed like ten minutes before the same african american boy came back and knelt in front of the door.
"Hey Greenie, I'm gonna let you out but you gotta promise not to run away like that again. Alright." The African American boy said.
"What is this place?" The boy said in confusion before he answered the African American boy started asking questions of his own. "First before I tell you anything, my name is Alby. Now can you tell me about yourself, where you came from, who you are?" Alby asked.
The boy tried to answer, but then he realized he couldn't remember anything from before he woke up in that elevator, not even his own name. "I-I can't remember. Why can't I remember anything?" The boy said, starting to panic.
"Hey calm down okay, this happened to all of us. We started like this. You'll get your name back in a day or two, it's the one thing they let us keep." Alby said, then he held out his hand for the boy to grab which he took and pulled him out of the pit as Alby and him started to walk around.
