31. 'Because I want to'

She looked at me and got up from her seat, coming towards me.

" I know I had the choice to say no. I said yes because that's what I wanted to say. " ...she looked at me with a soft and tender look.

I was smiling ear to ear, but tried not to show it on my face.

" I hope you've considered this thoroughly, because now I won't let you go even if you want to. " ....I smirked playfully at her.

She raised a brow in question.
" Really ?" ....

I nodded confidently.

" You can enter into my world by your will, but you cannot exit it without my permission. And since it's you, I won't let you exit ever.
You've got yourself into a deep mess, watch out." ......

She looked at me and chuckled.

" You got yourself into a mess deeper than I have, we'll find out soon. "

As she was about to go out I made myself clear.
" As long as the mess is you, i don't mind being buried into it. " ......

Although her back was facing me, but I saw the corners of her cheeks lift up, she was smiling.

Ruh pov; 

Just a few days ago, my life was on the edge, I was sure that I was going to marry a man who would use me just for his benefit, or worse, not even look at me his whole life. It all felt like the end of the world.

I wondered what my dad would think of me, if he would be disappointed knowing i didn't keep his name and fulfill the pact he made.

And now, in a moment everything had changed. Now, I am about to marry someone i actually want to. I wouldn't have known or even realized that I loved him if he didn't jump in and win me over.

Somehow, even though I loved him, I felt like the most in this relationship was done by him and I did very little to accommodate his feelings as well as mine for him.
However, now I wanted to fill in all those gaps. I knew I had resisted him from day 1, have put in very little effort towards this relationship, but now it was the most important one.

I intended on fulfilling all those scarcities once we got married. If I had ever made him feel like he was nothing for me, I would compensate for it now.

Now, I felt like I had a big, complete family. I felt like my life was finally worth it. Speaking of family, I saw Aksh strolling in the garden.

His strides turned towards me as soon as his eyes met mine.

" May I be of any help to her majesty, soon-to-be Queen of the great Malik's ? " ...He said in a formal tone but I could sense his playful tone.

I shook my head laughing.

" Don't do that. Amidst everything that is changing and will change, I want you to keep calling me Ruh like you always did. "

" Well, honestly I had to call you Ruh following the protocol. I knew from day 1 that you would be "her majesty" sooner or later. " .....

I looked at him in disbelief, and he was quick to pick it up.

" You never saw his eyes, did you ? He had always looked at you like a dreamy little boy looking at his most prized possession. " ........

I couldn't do anything but just brush it off as my cheeks had already started turning reddish.

" Tell me about anuj, where is he ?" ......I questioned as I really wanted to see him.

" He is the next big thing after Agastya. " ....he said.

" What ? Really ? But he's still so young. "

"Yes, seriously. That kid is already taking on to all responsibilities after Agastya. He left for the Indraprastha empire a few weeks ago. Our trade relations with them need to undergo a renewal. They're proposing different conditions to ours so a meeting was scheduled to revise the terms and conditions. "

" Indraprastha....the kingdom on the northern side ? " ....

" Yes, yes that one. It's growing rapidly, their lands are really fertile and give good produce every year. Half of their prosperity is due to the crop exports every year. "

" Good for them, when will anuj be back ? " I somehow felt concerned for him. I didn't know what it was but he felt like an younger brother that I needed to care for.

" Soon, now that you reminded me I think he's covered half the distance. He should be back in a few days. "

I nodded.

We stood in silence for a while before Aksh spoke.

" It'll be evening soon." I looked at him as I felt a kind of mischief in his voice, and when I looked at him, it was in his eyes too.

" Should I guide you to the royal chamber ?" .....he had a teasing voice.

I slapped his arm slightly.

" Ok ok good. But you know that you've to stay with Agastya in his chamber from today right ? "

I did, I did knew that but I didn't think about it till now. Now that he reminded me of it, I felt nervous. It was not scary but it was something new. I had never shared a room with someone.

It made tonight seem all the more intimidating.

" Yes I know that. So what ?" ....,I tried to keep a straight face.

" He sleep talks sometimes. Just thought I would give you a heads up. " ....he shrugged nonchalantly as he started walking towards the courtside.
