Then she sighed, her shoulders sagging slightly. "I'm trying. That's all I can promise."
Their eyes met, and something unspoken passed between them—a tentative connection, fragile but undeniably present.
"Okay," Becky said softly. "Let's try."
For the longest time, Becky had been certain of one thing: Freen didn't like her.
It wasn't just a hunch—it was an obvious, undeniable fact.
From the very beginning, Freen had made her disdain for their sudden marriage painfully clear. Becky never know what in the mind of the tiger boss, especially regarding the situation they're in. Even if Becky trying to find the answer, it seems like Freen never open up to her about the matter. Not even once, she can't even read her.
But now, as she stood in the middle of a luxurious villa, surrounded by a breathtaking view of the ocean and sky, Becky couldn't believe her current reality.
A honeymoon.
It wasn't just the absurdity of the situation—it was the fact that Freen herself had arranged everything.
A place so stunning, so meticulously planned, that Becky found it hard to reconcile with the image of Freen, who had once refused to even consider this marriage seriously.
She glanced over at Freen, who stood casually on the balcony, her posture relaxed yet commanding, as if the entire world bowed to her presence.
"You know," Freen's voice broke the silence, drawing Becky's attention, "I never realized how beautiful your eyes are."
Becky froze, the unexpected compliment sending a jolt through her chest.
Freen's gaze was steady, intense, and Becky felt her cheeks heat under the scrutiny.
"What?" Becky stammered, awkwardly clearing her throat.
"Your eyes," Freen repeated, stepping closer. "They're so expressive... I can't believe I never noticed before."
Becky tried to step back, but her movements were halted by Freen's arm circling her waist.
"Where do you think you're going?" Freen asked, her tone playful yet firm.
Becky swallowed hard, her heart racing. "W-what are we doing here, Freen?" she asked, her voice shaky.
It was a silly question—she knew why they were here.
Freen had already told her. But none of this felt real.
Freen raised an eyebrow, smirking slightly. "Didn't I already tell you? This is our honeymoon."
Becky blinked, her disbelief evident.
"But... why? Why now? You said before that you didn't want a honeymoon. You even said we didn't need one!"
Freen sighed, her expression softening. "Becca, do you ever stop asking questions?"
Becky frowned, crossing her arms.
"Well, excuse me for being confused! You seems like you've never wanted this marriage, Freen. And now suddenly we're on a honeymoon, in the middle of paradise? Forgive me if I find that hard to believe."
Freen's jaw tightened slightly, but she didn't look away.
"Do you think I didn't notice how tired you've been lately?" she asked, her voice quieter now. "You've been overworking yourself, trying to avoid... everything. Avoid me."
